Error 34

This occurs if you have recently made changes to your Steam account, most commonly changing your nickname or password. Trade restrictions usually last for a few hours.

You can:

• Buy and sell CS.MONEY items with a trade lock

You are not able to:

• Sell and trade your own items
• Buy CS.MONEY items without a trade lock
• Withdraw items to Steam

How to fix this?

Simply wait until the restriction expires – it usually takes a few hours.

Error 36

You reversed a completed trade on Steam and returned a Trade Protected item. As a result, a 30 day trade cooldown has been applied to your account.

You can:

• Buy and sell CS.MONEY items with a trade lock

You are not able to:

• Sell and trade your own items
• Buy CS.MONEY items without a trade lock
• Withdraw items to Steam

How to fix this?

Wait until the 30 day trade cooldown expires.

Password reset

You have reset your Steam account password and cannot trade for 5 days.

You can:

• Buy and sell CS.MONEY items with a trade lock

You are not able to:

• Sell and trade your own items
• Buy CS.MONEY items without a trade lock
• Withdraw items to Steam

How to fix this?

Wait 5 days until the restriction expires.

Steam Guard is not enabled on a new account

To make trades on Steam, you must have Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled for at least 15 days. You can use this guide to enable it: How to activate Steam Guard mobile authenticator?

Important

Log out and back into your Steam account right after enabling Steam Guard so the countdown for lifting the trade restriction can start.

You can:

• Buy and sell CS.MONEY items with a trade lock

• Withdraw items to Steam

How to fix this?

Enable the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, log back into your Steam account, and wait 15 days from enabling. You can check how long ago you added the mobile authenticator by following this link: https://store.steampowered.com/phone/manage

Less than 15 days since Steam Guard was enabled

To make trades on Steam, you must have Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled for at least 15 days. If you re-enabled it, the requirement is 7 days.

You can:

• Buy and sell CS.MONEY items with a trade lock

You are not able to:

• Sell and trade your own items
• Buy CS.MONEY items without a trade lock
• Withdraw items to Steam

How to fix this?

Wait for 15 days after enabling the mobile authenticator for the restriction to be lifted. You can check how long ago you added the mobile authenticator by following this link: https://store.steampowered.com/phone/manage

Changes to Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator

You have made a change to your Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator and cannot trade for 3 days. Probably, you have transferred Steam Guard from one device to another.

You can:

You are not able to:

• Sell and trade your own items
• Buy CS.MONEY items without a trade lock
• Withdraw items to Steam

Wait 3 days until the restriction is lifted.
