How does the “Buy” section of Market work?
“Buy” is the section on Market where you can purchase items from other users using your Market balance. You can add money to your balance up through one of the available payment methods or by selling your own items on Market.
When you make a purchase, you receive the item directly from the seller, and we guarantee the safety of the trade.
This section includes items with Instant Delivery (they’re marked with a “1m” tag and a rocket icon). You can buy them using either your Market balance or your Instant Buy balance. Read more about that below.
What are the advantages of buying on Market?
- Seller sends the item directly to your Steam inventory.
- Can have unique items unavailable in the Trade mode.
- If the seller hasn’t sent the trade offer after your bid, you can cancel the purchase after 30 minutes and get your money back.
How can I buy an item on Market?
- First, top up your Market balance by clicking the “+” button at the top of the page:
- Choose the item you want to buy, click “Buy” and wait for the seller’s confirmation:
- Track the purchase status in the “Notifications” section by clicking the bell icon at the top of the page. After 30 minutes, you’ll be able to cancel the deal if the seller hasn’t sent the trade offer:
- Once the seller creates a trade on Steam, you’ll receive a notification. Click “Accept in Steam” and confirm the trade in the Steam app:
How can I buy an item with Instant Delivery?
The buying process is the same as described above. The main difference is that items with Instant Delivery are received instantly, since there is no need to wait for the seller.
