Nades 101: best smokes on Ancient

6273

According to statistics, every ninth match in Counter-Strike 2 is played on Ancient. So, it’s crucial for everyone to know at least the key grenades on this map. The good news? The CS.MONEY Blog has prepared a list of the most important grenades for Ancient to help you level up your game!

While Valve hasn’t introduced skins for grenades yet, you can still grab a cool knife or gloves without overpaying. Head over to our site to update your inventory in just a few clicks!

Mid Smoke (T Side)

This smoke grenade fully blocks off the mid from the CT side. It can be thrown at the start of the round and lands just a second or two slower than instant smokes.

Donut Smoke (T Side)

Another smoke from T spawn. When used together with the mid smoke, it cuts off CT control of mid, allowing T-side players to take control of the area.

Ninja Molotov (T Side)

A simple Molotov that burns out the Ninja position completely. Throw it while moving—it will require little practice beforehand to land it perfectly.

Cat Room Smoke (T Side)

When pushing B site, several early grenades can be useful. One of them is the Cat Room Smoke, which blocks vision from mid and also cuts off the CT defense’s view of the site entrance.

Long Smoke (T Side)

A deep smoke for Long, leaving the corner near the stairs open. Be sure to ask teammates to watch your back in case of a mid push.

Short Smoke (T Side)

A very easy smoke that can be thrown on the move. It doesn’t block the Cave entrance, so be careful not to block your teammates’ path.

Cave Smoke (T Side)

The third smoke for a B-site take. It blocks the Cave player’s vision without interfering with Ts taking control of the bombsite.

CT Spawn Smoke (T Side)

For an A-site push, two key smokes are useful. The first one blocks off the CT Spawn entrance, preventing fast rotations. However, it doesn’t cover the player hiding behind the boxes.

Second Donut Smoke (T Side)

A second Donut smoke, closing off the exit from Donut to A-site. It lands deep enough to keep the backsite corner clear for clearing angles.

Pit Smoke (CT Side)

CT-side has its own useful grenades. Most of them are easy to execute, but B-site defenders can throw a smoke from CT spawn to slow down a B-site rush.

Default B Molotov (CT Side)

B-site defenders can also delay the bomb plant using a Molotov. If executed correctly, the fire covers both sides of the pillar, making it impossible to plant safely.

Ancient may not be the most popular map, but knowing these grenades is a must. And if you really want to stay ahead, learning the key lineups for Mirage is essential—this map is likely to stay in the pool for a long time. Check out our guide and start improving today!
