And Aim Botz was a very popular choice for many players, and fortunately, its creator has already released a version for the new game on Source 2. What is aim botz? Best training map!
Aim Botz is a CS2 training map that provides a lot of opportunities for both warm-up and aim skill improvement. Many players in the community loved it for its simple and intuitive interface and good functionality.
In Aim Botz you can place stationary or moving bot models, quickly switch weapons, and also have various challenges that allow you to track your aim training progress. All of these tools are important for players who want to get better at Counter-Strike. Most of this functionality was successfully updated in the CS2 version.
How to launch Aim Botz in CS2?
Since the Steam Workshop doesn’t yet support maps for CS2, this launching method may seem a bit complex. However, the map’s creator, uLLetical, has provided a detailed guide:
- Download the map from this link (also available on the map creator’s website).
- Unpack the .vpk file into the map folder (located in the Steam directory at \steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\maps).
- Create a desktop shortcut for convenience.
- In the shortcut’s properties, ensure the file path looks like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe” -applaunch 730 -insecure +map aim_botz
(replace the file path in quotes with the actual location of your steam.exe file if it’s on a different drive).
- Launch the game using this shortcut.
Why a special shortcut?
For convenience. The map only runs in “insecure” mode, which won’t allow you to play matchmaking at all. Therefore, the recommended course of action is as follows:
- Launch CS2 in “insecure” mode for training
- Exit the game after training
- Launch the “secure” version of CS2
CS2 Aim Botz features
At the moment, there are a few things to keep in mind about the map:
- If you are a spectator on the map and cannot shoot, press the “M” key and choose the CT side.
- All bots currently look the same.
- Heavy armour does not work.
- There are some minor lighting issues.
