Nobody knows the next knife
Still, it is also incorrect to think that if the best player in CS:GO has a specific knife in his inventory, it will not affect its price. Say, your favourite esports player wins a top tournament and flexes with a brand new Stiletto Knife Case Hardened. You can get an itchy feeling to buy it.

And you’re probably not the only person to have such a feeling. Thus, demand increases and the prices grow higher. The problem with such an increase is that it is almost impossible to predict. Therefore, trying to invest in knives to predict price rises might be risky, yet it still has one significant plus. Most knives don’t get cheaper, so even if their market values don’t skyrocket, there will be minimal, if any, losses.
Trust Factors
Even though pro players can affect prices through their fanbases, it’s not a very reliable factor. There are much better so-called Trust Factors that affect the market. For example, by the end of the year, all prices slightly rise—it’s a fact. Here’s another: the price of most skins drops when a new operation is released in its first days. These events occur regularly and are relatively predictable. And predictable things are much easier to work with.
