Valve had refrained from major updates to CS2 for a long time, but the wait is finally over. Counter-Strike 2 has received a series of significant improvements. CS.MONEY Blog will tell you all about the most important changes.

Playing Counter-Strike has never been more enjoyable, and to maximize your excitement, you can buy cool skins on our website. Wide assortment, quick deals, low prices, and discounts await you!

Viewmodel Changes: Now you can hold weapons in your left hand!

Did you google how to change hands in CS2? Maybe you searched how to play lefthanded in CS:GO times? One of the biggest changes demanded by the community, whether professional players or casuals, was the ability to hold weapons in the left hand. Players have different preferences, and since the early days of Counter-Strike, cl_righthand has been one of the most essential CS commands. Now, this option is available in CS2. Moreover, you can change the Viewmodel orientation on the fly!

Interesting Feature: Switching between left-handed and right-handed modes can now be done with the press of a single button, and this will be registered and visible to spectators watching the game.

Be like ropz: Throw grenades accurately

When it comes to CS2 settings, one of the most knowledgeable players is ropz. We’ve dissected the Estonian’s settings and highlighted an interesting command. With a single key press, the FaZe Clan player could stretch the crosshair both vertically and horizontally to the edge, enabling him to throw ultra-precise smokes. Valve has added this feature for everyone: after holding down the left mouse button, the crosshair will automatically expand, making life easier for players of all levels.

Another important new feature is the ability to change the radar zoom during the match. Imagine a situation: a smoke is thrown in front of you, and you can’t see anything, but you have to move forward. Now, you can enlarge the radar to ensure you don’t run into a wall. Very convenient!

Picking up drops has become easier, as well as understanding the economy

Simple but important changes have affected the buy menu. Now, dropped weapons are displayed in a separate section, so you don’t have to worry if your teammate missed slightly. Just click on the weapon in the buy menu, pick it up, and focus on the round.

The second change will help mostly newcomers: now the buy menu indicates the minimum possible monetary amount after the round. Not everyone can calculate the loss bonus correctly, and such a hint can be very helpful when calculating eco and semi-eco rounds.

Goodbye, Overpass! Hello again, Dust 2!

Valve updated the competitive map pool. Overpass has been replaced, and good old Dust II has returned. Opinions on the replacement are divided, but one question remains: if Overpass was removed so quickly, why did Valve invest such significant resources into its rework?

There is also a belief that Valve wants to standardize the gameplay meta, aiming for a similar pace across the entire map pool, with Overpass significantly standing out from the rest of the maps. Unfortunately, the developers have not yet explained their decision, so this version remains speculation.

Finally, Inferno has undergone a series of changes. The map now plays better, and players don’t experience as much claustrophobia. The mid and banana areas are cleaner, and you can look at the full changes here.

Economy changes: Zeus and CZ75 Buff, XM1014 Shotgun Nerf

We cannot overlook the economic changes that can alter the meta in CS2. XM1014 has been nerfed; it now grants $600 per kill instead of $900. Since this shotgun was quite potent, the idea of reducing its farming potential seems quite understandable.

On the other hand, CZ75-Auto and Zeus x27 received significant buffs. Now, kills with the CZ grant a $300 bonus, and we can expect experiments and the return of this pistol. However, the biggest buff went to Zeus, and killing with it now grants $100.

Considering its cost, this weapon was gradually becoming part of the meta; now, the risk/reward ratio has become even more enticing, and we anticipate more frags with it. Because of that, you have even more reasons to enhance your style by buying the Zeus x27 Olympus.

Copenhagen Major Sticker Discount

Lastly, we must mention that the classic post-major sticker sale has started! As always, there’s a 75% discount on capsules. The Copenhagen Major stickers look great, and the first Valve tournament in CS2 is a historic event!

Counter-Strike 2 continues to evolve and improve, and as always, we continue to delight you with the most diverse content from the Counter-Strike world.
