AK’s rate of fire, running speed and magazine size are average among rifles. Players with AK-47s move slightly slower than with M4s. However, in fights this does not have much of an impact. But you better retake or haste to sites with a knife or pistol in your hands.
Weak Sides of AK-47
The weakest and most annoying side of AK-47 is accuracy. AK is placed third-last in the CS2 rifle accuracy ranking. Only FAMAS and Galil AR do worse. In practice, this means that as the distance increases, the chance of hitting headshots decreases drastically. At 25 meters, every twentieth shot will fly by, even if the sight is aimed directly at the enemy’s head. At 50 meters, every second shot misses.
Therefore, to successfully play with an AK-47, it’s worth cutting distances to your enemies, at least to 20 meters. Here’s a good example: the distance from Kitchen to Van on Mirage, Plant B is exactly 20 meters, or the balcony-to-mid space on Inferno. At such distances, AK hits without a miss and opens to its fullest.
Another AK’s weakness is recoil. Starting from the sixth shot, the barrel begins to move to the sides and the recoil becomes very difficult to compensate. Therefore, the best option is to do single shots or short bursts of 3-4 shots. Don’t spray with AK-47! Only in emergency situations.
Is AK-47 in the current meta of CS2?
AK-47 is the most important, powerful and popular gun in the CS2 weapon meta. AK-47 is a universal weapon that is suitable for most gaming situations.
