CS2 Contract Guide: What Skins Give Which Knife

176839

Valve has shaken up the skin market by allowing players to trade five Covert skins for one knife or a pair of gloves. The result isn’t random, since every knife and glove in the game is linked to one or more cases. If you trade skins from those cases, you can only get rare drops from that same set. The CS.MONEY Blog collected a full list of all Covert skins and what you can get for trading them.

Before the list, here’s how the trade-up works. You need five skins of the same rarity (only Covert) and the same type. You can’t mix StatTrak and regular skins. When you have enough, you can trade them with one click for a rare drop. Important detail: gloves don’t exist with StatTrak, so they can’t be used in contracts. That’s it, pretty simple.

Knives and gloves in CS2 belong to certain cases. Thanks to this, it’s easy to tell which rare drop you can get from specific skins. Below we made a list of rare skins for each knife or glove type.

Butterfly Knife exists in only five cases: Operation Breakout Weapon Case, Dreams & Nightmares Case, Operation Riptide Case, Spectrum 2 Case and Spectrum Case. These cases also include these Covert skins:

  • M4A1-S Cyrex and P90 Asiimov come from the same case that only has Butterfly Knives, so trading them up guarantees a Butterfly Knife.
  • AK-47 Bloodsport;
  • USP-S Neo-Noir;
  • P250 See Ya Later;
  • AK-47 The Empress;
  • AK-47 Nightwish;
  • MP9 Starlight Protector;
  • Desert Eagle Ocean Drive;
  • AK-47 Leet Museo.

Karambit, as well as the M9 Bayonet, Gut Knife, Flip Knife and Bayonet were the first knives ever in CS. They appear in more than ten cases, and here’s the full list of Covert skins you can trade for a Karambit:

  • AWPLightning Strike;
  • SSG 08 Blood in the Water;
  • CZ75-Auto Victoria;
  • P90 Death by Kitty;
  • M4A4 X-Ray;
  • M4A4 Bullet Rain;
  • AK-47 Jaguar;
  • AK-47 Fire Serpent;
  • Desert Eagle Golden Koi;
  • AUG Chameleon;
  • AWP Asiimov;
  • P2000 Fire Elemental;
  • AK-47 Wasteland Rebel;
  • R8 Revolver Fade;
  • M4A4 Royal Paladin;
  • Sawed-Off The Kraken;
  • M4A4 Asiimov;
  • MAC-10 Neon Rider;
  • M4A1-S Hyper Beast;
  • M4A1-S Chantico’s Fire;
  • PP-Bizon Judgement of Anubis;
  • Galil AR Chatterbox;
  • AWP Man-o’-war;
  • AK-47 Neon Revolution;
  • FAMAS Roll Cage;
  • Glock-18 Wasteland Rebel;
  • M4A1-S Mecha Industries.

Classic Knife is the easiest. It drops only from one case, CS20, so you can get it by using one of these skins in a contract: FAMAS Commemoration or AWP Wildfire.

Kukri Knife appears in two cases, and to get it you must use one of these: AWP Chrome Cannon, AK-47 Inheritance, Glock-18 Gold Toof or M4A1-S Vaporwave.

Falchion Knife is more complicated since it’s in five cases at once. Covert skins from those cases can turn into a Falchion Knife if you’re lucky:

  • AK-47 Nightwish;
  • MP9 Starlight Protector;
  • Desert Eagle Ocean Drive;
  • AK-47 Leet Museo.
  • P250 See Ya Later;
  • AK-47 The Empress;
  • AK-47 Bloodsport;
  • USP-S Neo-Noir;
  • AWP Hyper Beast and AK-47 Aquamarine Revenge come from the Falchion Case: trading them gives 100% chance to get a Falchion Knife.

Shadow Daggers have their own case. Two Covert skins from it, M4A1-S Golden Coil and USP-S Kill Confirmed, guarantee a pair of daggers. Same story for the Bowie Knife: its home case is Operation Wildfire. Trading M4A4 The Battlestar or AK-47 Fuel Injector guarantees this huge knife.

You can also get Shadow Daggers and Bowie Knife by trading:

  • AK-47 Nightwish;
  • MP9 Starlight Protector;
  • Desert Eagle Ocean Drive;
  • AK-47 Leet Museo.
  • P250 See Ya Later;
  • AK-47 The Empress;
  • AK-47 Bloodsport;
  • USP-S Neo-Noir.

These four knives drop together in four specific cases. To get one of them, include one of these Covert skins:

  • Glock-18 Bullet Queen;
  • M4A1-S Player Two;
  • Five-SeveN Angry Mob;
  • M4A4 The Emperor;
  • AWP Neo-Noir;
  • AK-47 Asiimov;
  • Desert Eagle Code Red;
  • AK-47 Neon Rider.

Using any of these guarantees one of the four knives. They come as a set with no other knives mixed in.

Just like the previous group, Paracord, Survival, Nomad and Skeleton Knives drop only in certain cases. To get one of them, use:

  • MAC-10 Stalker;
  • AWP Containment Breach;
  • AK-47 Legion of Anubis;
  • Desert Eagle Printstream;
  • FAMAS Bad Trip;
  • AWP Printstream.

Gloves are just as rare as knives. But there’s one big difference. Gloves don’t have StatTrak versions, so using StatTrak skins for glove contracts is IMPOSSIBLE. Gloves are split into series, each with its own cases:

  • First Series: Glove Case and Operation Hydra Case;
  • Second Series: Clutch Case and Revolution Case;
  • Third Series:Operation Broken Fang Case, Recoil Case and Snakebite Case.

To get gloves, use the “red” skins from that matching case:

  • First Series: SSG 08 Dragonfire, M4A4 Buzz Kill, Five-SeveN Hyper Beast, AWP Oni Taiji.
  • Second Series: AK-47 Head Shot, M4A4 Temukau, MP7 Bloodsport Covert SMG, M4A4 Neo-Noir.
  • Third Series: Glock-18 Neo-Noir, M4A1-S Printstream, AWP Chromatic Aberration, USP-S Printstream, USP-S The Traitor, M4A4 In Living Color.

Just like with knives, if all five skins are from one case, then you will get gloves from that case. Which gloves exactly? That’s pure luck. It can be both shiny Sport Gloves Vice for $15,000, or worn Hydra Gloves Emerald for just $150.

The ability to trade Covert skins for knives made prices go crazy. Don’t want to rely on luck to get the knife or gloves you want? Visit CS.MONEY and buy the item you need right away.
