Butterfly knives are one of the most expensive knife skins in Counter-Strike, if not the most expensive. People like their animations, and the knife’s design significantly differs from other blades in CS2. In this article, CS.MONEY Blog will tell you about all the butterfly knives available in the game.

Butterfly Knife Doppler
For most knives in CS2 (and skins in general), different patterns are just design variations, with some combinations being better and others less fortunate. But the difference between them is generally tiny. Still, with all Butterfly Doppler knives, such a difference is significant.
Depending on patterns, the trading community distinguishes Four Phases of Butterfly Doppler skins, each with its own shadings that clearly distinguish one phase from another. Phase One stands out radically from Phase Four as if they were two completely different BF knives.
Collectors also highlight three separate categories where one of the colours dominates the entire blade: Sapphire (blue), Ruby (red), and Black Pearl (black). These are the rarest combinations and are much more expensive than other Phases.
All Doppler butterfly knives drop from two CS2 cases: Spectrum and Spectrum 2.
Butterfly Knife Gamma Doppler
BF Gamma Doppler knives work almost identical to the regular Doppler knives. Gamma Dopplers also have four phases, but since a lot here is based on green, only one gem pattern is the most wanted: Emerald. Butterfly Knife Gamma Doppler Emerald is one of the most expensive knives in the game, starting at $17,500.
All Gamma Doppler butterfly knives drop from two cases: Operation Riptide and Dreams and Nightmares.
Butterfly Knives from Operation Breakout Case
Doppler and Gamma Doppler knives are just way above the ground compared to all other BF knives. And it’s even more straightforward with the latter. There are no fundamental differences, so we will divide the knives by how they drop, which basically means which cases have them.
Operation Breakout Case is unique because it contains some exclusive knives. Indeed, we mean the most expensive knives from it: Crimson Web and Fade. Crimson Web has become a classic design that attracts a lot of attention, as the red blade and the spiderweb look very cool. The Fade is impressive due to its gradient filling and the prestigious patterns with maximum purple on the blade.
Slaughter and Case Hardened butterfly knives can be considered a more affordable alternative to Crimson Web and Fade. In the first case, we have a less vibrant but still attention-grabbing design with dominant red, while Case Hardened, like Fade, heavily depends on the pattern, with the proportions of colours on the blade affecting the price.
Operation Breakout Case offers a wide variety of black and white knives. Here, we include Vanilla, a simple metallic blade without any design. Blue Steel is a dark knife with some purple or dark green patches, but they don’t draw much attention. Night is the darkest skin of all, living up to its name. Stained and Urban Masked are grey knives that are a more affordable alternative but can still find their fans.
Speaking of the cheapest and most affordable butterfly knives (though you’ll still need at least $800), we have Boreal Forest, a knife with a forest camouflage, Forest DDPAT, which has a darker camouflage compared to Boreal Forest, Desert Safari Mesh, and Scorched for those who like urban-toned camouflage.
Overall, except for Crimson Web and Fade, knives from the Operation Breakout Case typically have lower values, but some decent knives are still among them.
Butterfly Knives from Spectrum and Spectrum 2 Cases
Spectrum and Spectrum 2 cases are our favourites when it comes to the knives they offer. In addition to Doppler knives, there are three outstanding blades: Marble Fade, with its shifting colours, looks amazing; Ultraviolet captivates with its simple combination of black and purple; and Tiger Tooth is perfect for fans of yellow. Damascus Steel looks fairly basic, but you can still find pleasing patterns. Finally, the cheapest of the dropping knives, Rust Coat, may look rusty (what else should it look like?).
Butterfly Knives from Operation Riptide & Dreams and Nightmares Cases
You can get Gamma Doppler knives from these cases, but there are also other interesting models. The legendary AWP Dragon Lore inspired Butterfly Lore, and here we see a similar colour scheme with a fairy-tale pattern on the blade. Autotronic features a catchy and sporty design, combining unpainted steel with red accents. Black Laminate is perfect for a black inventory, and switching it with an AK-47 Slate is pure pleasure. Freehand is one of the most underrated knives in terms of beauty: its purple blade is adorned with magnificent silver icons. Finally, Bright Water combines grey and blue camouflage.
In total, there are currently 35 different types of butterfly knives in Counter-Strike 2 (we count different Doppler phases separately). Since the probability of getting a knife from a case is relatively low, CS.MONEY Trade is a better alternative. We have neat and handy filter systems to help you find the perfect knife without overpaying. Click the link and use your easy way to update your inventory!
