Our series of posts about key grenades on tournament maps is coming to an end. Today, the CS.MONEY Blog is going to cover the basic nuke throws at A Site.
Before reading this article, take a look at our guide on grenade throwing mechanics in CS:GO — it’ll help you, for example, to learn the difference between the regular throw and the jumpthrow. On Nuke, this knowledge will certainly come in handy.
Basic CT nades
Let’s start with the CT grenades. At A Site, the defense side needs to cover two passages at the beginning of the round: the door and the hut. And while you can easily throw a Molotov at both spots, it’s a little more complicated with the smokes.
To cover the hut with smoke, get to the wall near heaven and aim a touch above the doorway. Make a regular throw — and the smoke will block that passage for the Ts.
The perfect location for throwing the door smoke is the mini. You can make the throw on the run or simply from the spot. All you have to do is hit the area to the right of the door for the nade to get “stuck” there. It’s a very neat smoke, and if the Ts suddenly venture out into it, out-shooting them is child’s play.
If the Ts have already captured the site and planted the C4, you can throw a flash to retake the area. To this end, climb to heaven, sit directly above the stairs, and aim to the right of the yellow doorway. The flash will blind the enemies at the plant site.
Basic T nades
As a T, you can make high-profile nade throws at A Site from the roof. But first, you need to break the windows so that the nades’ trajectory doesn’t change.
The two basic Molotov thrown to the site will force the CT team to move around and take unfavorable positions. The first Molotov will go into the hut. To perform it, climb the texture on the roof in such a way that there’s a small black dot in the middle of the crosshair. Aim slightly to the left of the window’s right border and make the throw while slowly moving. The player on the hut will either stand in the flames until they die, or jump off and shoot.
By the way, you can throw the flash in like manner so that the teammates will be even more comfortable to go out.
The second Molotov is used to set fire to the site. It’s even easier to perform than the first one. Stand against the small wall on the roof and aim at the lower point of the yellow railings. Make a jumpthrow. Now the CT urgently needs to change their position.
You can throw nades at A Site not only from the roof. If you’re lucky with the spawn location, you can buy HE and smoke grenades. Here’s the plan: first, blow up the door, and then throw a smoke at the mini. Thus, you cut off one helping player from A. The key thing: do everything on the double. Better yet, ask the team AWPer to look at the mini before the smoke covers it.
So these were the key grenades on Nuke around A Site. They’re sure to make your games in matchmaking and on other platforms easier. Read our posts about nade throws on other maps, and stay tuned to the CS.MONEY Blog: a guide to the key grenades at Nuke’s B Site is coming very soon.
