The Dreams & Nightmares Case can be called experimental: Valve held a special contest, and the winners were added to the game. But even though the skins were really high quality, this experiment hasn’t been repeated. Today, the CS.MONEY Blog is here to remind you and show you all the skins from the Dreams & Nightmares Case.

We’re running a mega giveaway that you can still join. The prize pool is $25,000, and we’re giving away hundreds of skins! Click the banner to learn more.
Is the Dreams & Nightmares Case rare?
In short, no. The case is still in the active drop pool, and it won’t stop dropping anytime soon (maybe in a year). All skins in this case are winners of the “Dreams & Nightmares” contest. The artworks share this theme, though there are more “nightmare” skins than “dream” ones. The case has the standard number of skins — 17. The rarity levels are also what you’d expect: Covert skins are the rarest, and Mil-Spec skins are the most common. The cool thing about some of these skins is that their look changes in unique ways as the pattern wears out!
Covert-Quality Skins

There are only two red skins. These are the AK-47 Nightwish and MP9 Starlight Protector. The creators — Nextgenz and TheDanidem — have been featured in CS before. Nextgenz made the USP-S Monster Mashup skin, and TheDanidem is the artist behind several stickers from the CS20 Sticker Capsule, like Surf’s Up and Friend Code.
The AK-47 Nightwish is super bright. A glowing blue psychedelic monster stands out against a dark background. The design also has a shiny pearl effect. This is clearly a “nightmare” skin. On the other hand, the MP9 Starlight Protector is more of a “dream.” This SMG of protection is decorated with a unicorn and styled with marble and gold. Fancy.
Classified-Quality Skins

The second rarest category has three skins. They are MP7 Abyssal Apparition by Niran, Dual Berettas Melondrama by sebasteter and Kuch, and FAMAS Rapid Eye Movement by Sparkwire and Druida. All three easily fit the “nightmare” vibe. You’ve got soul-piercing watermelons, tons of creepy eyes, and a real nightmare abyss.
Also, when the Rapid Eye Movement skin gets more worn, its color changes (but the design stays the same), and the eyes on the Melondrama fade in a super creepy way.
Restricted-Quality Skins

This group has five skins. Only one of them really feels like a “dream” skin — the G3SG1 Dream Glade. Here are the five Restricted skins from the Dreams & Nightmares Case:
- XM1014 Zombie Offensive by oKeyush
- G3SG1 Dream Glade by Druida
- PP-Bizon Space Cat by Maloo
- USP-S Ticket to Hell by supremat
- M4A1-S Night Terror by Madara and Blazer
Ticket to Hell, Night Terror, and Space Cat became pretty popular: they’re cheap but still look cool and colorful.
Mil-Spec-Quality Skins

This is the biggest rarity group. It includes seven skins from the case. Again, most of them are more “nightmare”-style. Here they are:
- P2000 Lifted Spirits by Des
- Five-SeveN Scrawl by Anbu and kasim.tattoo
- SCAR-20 Poultrygeist by Guardian Gear
- MAC-10 Ensnared by Catmagen and b3d
- MP5-SD Necro Jr. by hook and KvaHu
- MAG-7 Foresight by Jerry and zlo
- Sawed-Off Spirit Board by Sorarox
Check out the last skin: when the float gets higher, the Spirit Board reveals an Illuminati eye and the word “Run.”
All the skins in the Dreams & Nightmares Case were created by the community during the contest of the same name. Out of 15,000 submissions, Valve picked 17. Each skin not only made it into the case, but also earned its creators $100,000.
