Strong Sides of Glock-18 in CS2
Let’s be honest: Glock-18’s strongest side is that it’s completely free. In addition, this gun has two more strengths. First, it’s magazine is quite big: among pistols, only Dual Berettas have bigger capacity. Second, Glock has relatively high shooting accuracy: Glock-18 is accurate out to 20 meters, which is slightly worse than USP-S, but better than Dual Berettas or Five-SeveNs.
This is where the strengths end. Glock’s mobility, 240 units per second, and rate of fire, 400 rounds per minute, are pretty average, which are not so decisive when comparing CS2 pistols.
Finally, Glock-18 has a three-shot, aka burst, mode. In this alt mode, Glock fires with a speed of 1200 rounds per minute, however, due to the pause between bursts, constant shooting in this mode does not make sense. In rare situations, you can use burst fire to finish off the enemy, but it’s better not to risk it.
Glock-18’s Weak Sides
However, Glock-18 also has weak sides. Its damage is lower than pistols like USP or P250, especially at longer ranges. Already at a distance of 12-13 meters, a headshot does not kill instantly. And if your target has a helmet, at a medium distance you will have to hit the head as many as three times! This is the worst indicator among all CS2 pistols.
Another problem is on-the-move accuracy. Glock is pretty accurate if you shoot from a standing or sitting position, but the second you start moving, it drop drastically. Glock-18 is not a pistol that can be used always and everywhere. It should only be used while standing or closing the distance with the enemy. You won’t be able to make any jump shots, like you can with SSG 08, with a Glock-18 in your hands.
Glock-18 in CS2 Weapon Meta
Pros get about 4% of all kills in a match with Glock-18s. This number comes from pistol and eco rounds, as well as rare cases of switching to pistol in an emergency. As a result, we can safely say that Glock-18 has firmly taken its place in the meta as a gun for pistols rounds and as a last resort.
In practice, this means that Glock-18 should be replaced with P250 or TEC-9 as soon as possible. For a small investment of $300 and $500 respectively, you can significantly increase your firepower and chances of winning a gunfight.

Glock-18 is a workhorse for offensive players. Always at hand, you can fire on the run and its huge magazine helps in battles against USPs. This comes at the cost of damage, but even so, Glock-18 is a great pistol and a skin for it should be in your inventory.
