CS:GO offers separate ways to become immortalized in the game. For example, you can get personal stickers for participating in a Major, which happened to a few hundred players. An elite yet quite large club. But there’s an even smaller group of players—just seven—who earned some iconic marks on CS:GO maps for their extraordinary achievements. Surely, we mean esports-related graffiti. A player must accomplish something incredible during a Major to earn one. Burning Defender Olofmeister
There’s a yellow house/crate on Overpass’ Plant B. And it has a CT agent depicted in flames. This is the first ever graffiti CS:GO. It appeared after Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer defused a C4 while being on fire from a Molotov cocktail in the semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2014.
The Swedish player disarmed the explosive a split second before dying to snatch the fifteenth round from Dignitas. He made it 15:14. Olof’s Fnatic also took the following round. Winning the game.
This selfless defuse brought the team to victory in the match and, ultimately, in the entire Major. In the finals, Fnatic defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas with a score of 2:1.
Olofmeister and His Infamous Boost
The Swedish legend is the only player in the world with two memorable dedicated graffiti on Overpass. In the quarter-finals of DreamHack Winter 2014, Fnatic surprised Team LDLC with an unusual boost at the CT spawn. This boost helped the team make a comeback from a score of 3:12 and win the map 16:13.
Unfortunately for Fnatic, this boost was claimed unfair: Olofmeister could see his opponents and kill them, while opponents couldn’t do anything about it. After heated debates, Fnatic forfeited the match, and Team LDLC won the entire tournament. Valve later fixed the possibility of such a boost and added memorable graffiti.
Coldzera and the Flying AWP
On Mirage, behind the van on B, there’s an image of an AWP with wings and four marks above the scope. This drawing also appeared for a reason. Inspired by Marcelo “Coldzera” David.
In the semi-finals of MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, his team, Luminosity Gaming, played against Team Liquid. It was 9:15, and the Brazilian team needed a miracle. And then came Coldzera. With an AWP Asiimov in hand, he almost single-handedly stopped five attacking opponents in an attempt to rush B.
Four kills, including a no-scope on both s1mple and EliGE—two big names in CS:GO—felt magical! This epic historical CS:GO moment worth graffiti can’t be underestimated: Luminosity Gaming pushed the map into overtime rounds and won!
Coldzera even got a tattoo of graffiti on his right hand.
s1mple, Descended from the Heaven
On Cache, you can find an image of a winged s1mple with an AWP. It’s located at the B Plant entrance from the CT side. As you can see, it’s a sniper hovering on wings, and the scope of his rifle is dropping to the ground. Well, who needs it when you can perform such a miracle to win the round?
This legendary CS:GO moment occurred in the semi-finals of ESL One: Cologne 2016. Imagine the hype and love from the community if it survived a complete Cache rework? While the first version of the new map lacked graffiti, you can now easily find it at the same spot where both frags were made.
Friberg, the Banana King
Did you know that Banana on Inferno is actually called Via Adamo, Adam Street? All CS:GO fans know exactly who this is referring to. In CS:GO’s early days, when NiP dominated for several years, Friberg played super effectively on the specific part of the map.
Friberg was showcasing his excellent Banana skills all the time, but the main highlight was the round in the ESL One Cologne 2014 Grand Finals. Armed with an AK-47 Redline, Adam single-handedly cleared the entire Fnatic team, and three frags were made right on Banana. Given that Inferno was the deciding map, which NiP ultimately won, the significance of this moment is hard to overestimate.
Dosia and His Genius Grenade Throw
Another Inferno moment, another graffiti dedicated to a legendary esports event. PGL Krakow Major 2017 Grand Finals. One single but very clever nade throw was the key to victory on this deciding map.
Gambit was comfortably leading 9:1. In the eleventh round, Immortals managed to take A and plant the C4 while preserving most of their players. With two remaining players, Gambit chose not to push it and save their weapons.
Trying to make the most out of the situation, Dosia took a risk and tossed a grenade. The decision paid off entirely: Immortals players chose to stay on A and survive the C4 explosion in the far corner. If you have full health, you can easily survive, but the grenade landed exactly where it needed to just seconds before the explosion! Two players lost more than half their health, and the bomb blast finished them! Minus two AK-47s, the economy was disrupted, and a chance for a comeback was lost!
Valve decided to commemorate this brilliant move with a poster of a grenade-shaped bottle of perfume signed: “You can’t escape”.
Wolf on the Roof for Furlan and GruBy
The last CS:GO esports graffiti is unique and will probably always be one of a kind. It’s located on the roof on… Blacksite! This map was used for a Battle Royale show match at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice Major 2019.
At the end of the show match, Furlan was left outnumbered. He was alone against SPUNJ and jks. Realizing he can’t outgun two opponents alone, Furlan activated his mega-brain mode.
Calculating the trajectory of the delivery drone’s flight, he determined where the opponents were. Then he lurked in the right direction across the roof and finally heard footsteps. SPUNJ and jks weren’t expecting an attack from above. Furlan eliminated one first, then changed positions and finished off the second.
Since then, there lies a neat graffiti on a rooftop of a forgotten map, honouring Furlan and GruBy, who won the match.
Many moments deserve graffiti, but not everyone is so lucky. We’ve listed ten highlights worth becoming graffiti, but it never happened.
