Counter-Strike 2 is a game where you can enjoy many features, one of which is the StatTrak kill counter. With it, players can track their progress in the game, and seeing that round number on a skin can be a great boost. Today, CS.MONEY Blog will tell you more about this module and how to transfer ST kill counts from one skin to another.
Thanks to Valve and its StatTrak Swap Tool, you don’t have to choose between a high kill count and a fresh new skin — you can have both, and CS.MONEY will help you find your ideal skin without overpaying.
What is StatTrak in Counter-Strike 2?
StatTrak is a special on-skin module that counts the number of frags/kills made by a player with a specific weapon/skin. StatTrak skins are usually more expensive than standard ones because of their added functionality and rarity.
The Frag Counter only works if you make kills with a skin that belongs to you. For instance, if you’re racking up frags with an AWP Redline while also owning an AWP Mortis in your inventory, only the Redline’s counter will go up. Moreover, kills on bots don’t count, which can be used to jokingly tease opponents (“Hey, I killed you, but my counter didn’t go up — are you a bot?”).
The StatTrak module displays six digits, so when you reach 999,999 kills, the counter will reset to six zeros on the skin, but the full number will still appear on Steam. If you pick up a StatTrak skin owned by someone else, your kills won’t affect the counter, and the word “ERROR” will display to show you don’t own that skin.
Lastly, note that if you list a StatTrak skin on the market or trade it, the counter will reset to zero. If you value those beautiful numbers, think twice before trading the skin. Valve provides a situational but useful tool called the StatTrak Swap Tool to help keep those numbers intact.
How to Use StatTrak Swap Tool in CS2
To swap StatTrak counters between skins, you’ll need the StatTrak Swap Tool. You can buy it on CS.MONEY, in the in-game shop, or on Steam Marketplace.
Next, you’ll need two identical weapon models. For instance, you can swap StatTrak from an M4A4 Temukau to an M4A4 Asiimov, but not between an AK-47 Slate and a Glock-18 Neo-Noir. This tool is handy when you’re upgrading to a cooler skin.
To transfer the StatTrak counter,
- Buy StatTrak Swap Tool
- Go to your Counter-Strike 2 inventory
- Select the StatTrak Swap Tool
- Activate it and choose what skin you would like to de-StatTrak
A list of StatTrak skins will appear — choose the one you want, then select from the available exchangeable skins. Confirm the procedure, and you’re all set. It’s simple and intuitive.
Note: swapping StatTraks doesn’t affect a skin’s trade lock. It’s a small detail, but it’s important to know.
With this easy process, Valve lets players keep their kill history while refreshing their skins. For a quick, easy, and cost-effective experience, you can make this happen on CS.MONEY!
