New Black-and-White Skins

Over the past few months, Valve has seriously updated the drop pool by adding new themed and color-based collections. We already have yellow-green, purple-blue, and orange-red skin sets. Recently, a monochrome collection joined them with 20 skins:

Interesting fact: not all skins in the collection are fully gray. AWP The End has a purple shine, and the Glock-18 Trace Lock features something like a rainbow ring in the center with lines coming out of it. Still, the rest of the skins are honestly black and white.

Another important detail is that the collection has no knife and no Covert-tier skins. This seriously limits how the new skins can be used in trade-ups and will likely keep their prices from rising too high.

Best Skins from the Achroma Collection

It’s easy to pick the best skin in the new black-and-white collection — it’s the new AWP. High contrast, a purple shine, and it handles wear pretty well. It checks all the boxes. Choosing the second-best skin is much harder. The new AK-47 gets scratched up in an unattractive way, the Deagle lacks color with its comic panel-style design, and so on.

The Glock-18 Trace Lock fits the role of the second-best skin the most. It looks good on its own and feels like a great base for creative crafts.
