Bestiary Capsule: basilisks, dragons, and phoenixes

Basilisks, dragons, and phoenixes — for those into all sorts of chimeras, The Bestiary Capsule does the thing. The CS.MONEY blog is here to tell you what this capsule is and everything you need to know about it.

Time & money

The Bestiary Capsule was added to the game on September 28, 2016. It contains 14 stickers: 3 (Foil), 4 (Holo), and 7 regular ones and costs just over 1 dollar on the Steam Marketplace.

The most expensive sticker, Phoenix Reborn (Foil), is priced at 9.5 bucks, with the cheapest item — that’s a “regular” Hippocamp — costing about 40 cents. By the way, there are but few of these capsules: the Marketplace is currently offering a little more than 100. But you can buy one directly in the game.

Stickers

Not every sticker in this capsule is unique. On the contrary, half of them are copies. Phoenix Reborn (Foil), Basilisk (Foil), and Dragon (Foil) are all versions of regular stickers. The same goes for the (Holo) stickers.

This feature renders the capsule an outlier of sorts. While a capsule would usually offer more variety, The Bestiary Capsule is sparse design-wise: it only offers seven unique designs. However, by no means did the quantity compromise the quality in this particular case. The stickers look gorgeous!

They aren’t just re-drawings of memeable Middle Age frescoes but works of great style and thought. Our favorite sticker is Pegasus (Holo). A mythical horse with wings shimmering in orange, pink, and purple. This beauty will cost you a couple of bucks, but it’s definitely money worth spent.

Shape & scuffs

As far as the stickers from The Bestiary Capsule are concerned, we can’t but mention the uniformity of their shapes. For instance, the green dragon is almost licking its tail, while the bearded manticore is holding its wings in a threatening pose. This unity of form makes even a combo of different Bestiary stickers look harmonious.

Unlike many others, Bestiary Capsule stickers are extremely hard to rub off. Their dark background goes quite well with similarly dark skins. The stickers are covered in white when rubbed off, making them suitable only for very light or white skins.

Price history

The prices of almost all Bestiary stickers increase over time. The only exceptions are the three cheapest stickers: the prices of Hippocamp, Dragon, and Manticore have been in the range between 40 and 60 cents for quite a while now. The value of (Foil) stickers is going up steadily. Since their drop, their prices have grew by 1.5 to 2 times.

Notably, the capsule itself isn’t getting more expensive. Over the past few years, its price has hovered at just over 1 dollar. Since the thing can be obtained without whistles and bells through in-game purchases, the price is unlikely to change.

Guns to stick these to

The (Holo) stickers from this capsule look good on MAC-10 Disco Tech. First of all, this skin has the same effect. Second: the colors match very well, with the stickers fitting like a glove.

Both the regular and (Foil) versions of Phoenix Reborn look good on gold skins. The bright and saturated yellow color perfectly complements the composition of such AK skins as ах. Яркий и насыщенный желтый цвет отлично дополняет композицию таких скинов для «калаша», как: Legion of Anubis, The Empress, or Fuel Injector

If you’re a fan of dark skins, you should take a closer look at Basilisk in regular or (Foil) versions: it’s the only dark sticker in the capsule. It will amazingly enhance purple or red elements.

The Bestiary Capsule was designed by Less and Apel. The latter is still actively filling his page in the Workshop with cool items. Together, they managed to create a little menagerie for all sorts of mythical creatures. The Bestiary Capsule is a successful combination of a low price, an interesting idea, and good design. We do like it — what about you? Leave your opinion about the capsule in the comments!
