This night, Valve released a new update for Counter-Strike 2. As part of the newest CS2 patch of June 30, changes were made to the map pool: no more Mirage, Nuke and Office coming in. Also, new sound stuff, grenade inspection animations, numerous bug fixes and life-quality things. CS.MONEY Blog tells all about the newest CS2 patch.
Important! Valve added new animations so players now know how to inspect grenades. Are you ready for new skins in CS2? It’s time to upgrade in the easiest way, at CS.MONEY Trade. Quick deals, handy filters and a huge selection of skins.
Nuke and Office instead of Mirage
Along with the newest CS2 patch, Valve introduced map rotation. They removed Mirage but added Nuke and Office. We remind you that as part of the transition to CS2, the development team updates all maps according to one of three scenarios:
- Updated on the Source 2 engine
- Redone to enhance lightning effects
- Complete rework
How Nuke Looks in CS2?
Nuke is the first map in CS2 to go through the second update scenario. Lighting has been redone throughout the map and all renders are now physically accurate. This creates realistic textures, light and reflections.
And the updated new Nuke looks really gorgeous, the map is literally flooded with light, and the faded and boring concrete floor now shines like it was cleaned by Mr. Proper all night.
How Office Looks in CS2?
Office remained Office. Snow, hostages, smoke-filled corridors and shotgun spam. Veterans of this map are unlikely to notice changes in the gameplay. So, it’s mainly the graphic upgrade.
New Inferno in CS2
Also, the developers left a lot of information in the game files about another completely redesigned map in CS2: Inferno. Here are screenshots of Inferno’s updated version, one of the most popular maps in the game.
Sound and Animations
The new CS2 patch made changes to animations. First, now we have an animation for inspecting grenades. Perhaps the development team is preparing a platform to release skins for grenades. In the end of the article, we will show you how CS2 nade skins can look like.
Med syringe animations and inspecting some of the guns have also been improved. This is a minor bug fix. For example, the syringe was just bugged completely and, when used, displayed a standard texture on your screen. A second after using, players could only see black and pink checkers texture on screens.
With sound, nothing revolutionary, yet a bit important. What’s really noteworthing is that Nuke now has a unique environment layer made specifically for sounds: its main task is to simplify vertical orientation by sound. Several bugs have also been fixed and distance effects have been added to sounds.
Movement, Code, Misc
CS2 30 June patch fixed a bug with slow crouching and standing up. Also, the developers fixed (or reworked? or updated?) bunnyhop and now it should feel “like in CS:GO on 128 tick” ©. Finally, the speedometer on cl_showpos has been improved. Now it shows in brackets the highest speed in the last 3 seconds.
Regarding the CS2 network code, Valve made the sending of delta frames asynchronous. By this, the developers promise to reduce the possibility of “dropped” ticks.
Finally, CS2 patch from 30.06 fixed a few minor bugs:
- Fixed a situation where holstered weapons were displayed on a dead player
- Switching to spectator mode will default to first-person spectator mode whenever possible
- Adjusted the transition of the spectator camera to free mode
- Centered game mode text on loading screen
- Removed “Best of X rounds” message on loading screen
Updated buy menu with weapon difficulty:
If you didn’t know, CS2 now shows weapon use difficulty in buy menu. And with the latest update, the stars have acquired different colors.
Bonus: Grenade Skins in CS2
There is a high possibility that with the addition of grenade inspection animations in CS2, the developers will also add grenade skins in the future. How can HE, smoke, flash and fire nade skins look like? Here you go:
Are you looking forward to these skins? Hurry up to update before the release of CS2 on CS.MONEY Trade!
