MP9 vs MP7: price, rate of fire, damage, etc.
Let’s start by comparing these SMG’s main characteristics. MP9 has a lower price tag, higher rate of fire and movement speed, and slightly slower damage distance fade against MP7.
In contrast, MP7 has higher damage and armour penetration, as well as better accuracy. But this gun has another non-obvious advantage. Its slower rate of fire, 750 rounds versus the MP9’s 857, and easier-to-control recoil for the first five shots make MP7 more comfortable to play with and deal impact.
So what’s better? MP7 & MP9 pros and cons
Obviously, both submachine guns are well suited for playing against an opponent’s eco round and can, to a limited extent, be used in full-buy rounds. MP9 and MP7’s advantages and disadvantages also indicate when and how you should better execute them.

MP7‘s Main Problem
Well, it’s more of a complex thing about why MP7 is out of the meta these days. Basically, this gun has no strong points. Firing at a medium distance of up to 15 meters? MP7 and MP9 do approximately equal damage per second and have sufficient accuracy. At the same time, due to severe differences in movement speed, it’s pretty challenging to hit a target carrying MP9. At the same time, you will run slower with MP7 than with M4A4! So, what should be done with MP7?
So, is MP7 useless?
Not really. MP7 is still a nice gun and will work just fine. Moving away from the pro scene where players constantly practise their mechanical skills and going down to regular CS:GO matchmaking, you can see that MP7’s simple recoil pattern is a serious advantage. It doesn’t matter how fast MP9 spits bullets as long as they miss most of the time.
That is why MP7 is well suited to players with weak recoil control and aim. This gun is easier to deal with and, therefore, easier to make a frag. It’s no secret, but the best way to win in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is to kill enemies, and not vice versa. So it’s good for blue-collar players like us.
Which one has better skins: MP7 vs MP9
So, these two weapons are almost equal. So, skins could be a decider! Firstly, and obviously, skins for these guns do not overlap. Therefore, if you like, for example, MP7 Neon Ply, you can safely play with MP7. Those two damage units per second against armoured targets are not worth abandoning the skin you like.
