Top 5 wildest celebrations in CS:GO

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a very tough competitive shooter. Even in matchmaking, all players are on edge. In esports matches, the intensity of emotions is absolutely insane. Sometimes, it can lead to pretty violent celebrations. Today, the CS.MONEY Blog is going to tell you about the five most emotional victories.

Jubilant Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup

In the ESL One: Cologne 2014 finals, the third CS:GO Major in history, team Ninjas in Pyjamas went head-to-head with fnatic. The Swedish derby was the most anticipated match: the previous Major had witnessed the same teams meeting each other in the finals. In the latter, the fnatic lineup was victorious.

The last match at ESL One: Cologne 2014 was spectacular. Both clubs brought their A-game in the Bo3 game. All three maps were played, and there was a tight fight on each map. A match like this is a sight to behold to this day!

In any event, much more touching was the Swedes’ moment of jubilation. The last frag, Inferno is over with a score of 16:13. The Ninjas in Pyjamas members jump up from their seats and literally hop around the stage. Once emotions have subsided a bit, Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund sits down with his arms around the trophy, unable to contain his emotions.

There’s no doubt that winning in the finals of a Major is always a truly cathartic moment: gold in a Valve tournament is one of the greatest milestones in any pro’s career. But it was Ninjas in Pyjamas that celebrated their victory in the most memorable fashion.

Heroic’s Flying Chairs

Casper “cadiaN” Møller is famous not only for his play and IGL role in Heroic, but also for his absolutely wild emotions after intense matches. Just look at his trash talk at the last Antwerp Major, where Casper provocatively suggested that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač do so more retweets.

However, the most striking moment with cadiaN isn’t related to his performance at the Major, and not even with the finals of a tournament. In the quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 14, Heroic faced Team Liquid. The match was a very sweaty one, with three maps, each with at least 20 rounds, and on the last one, everything was decided in extra rounds.

After a victory like that, the Heroic members went berserk, in particular cadiaN, who started smashing the surroundings and even threw a chair at his teammate in the process. Luckily, it was a light blow to the knee, so nobody got hurt, but it was certainly a memorable moment. You don’t get to see such vivid emotions every day.

Stewie2K got on the table

Team Liquid was on a roll in 2019. During that season, the North American scene was arguably at its best. Team Liquid’s success even eclipsed Cloud9’s victory at the Major the year before. After all, the Liquid lineup took gold at Intel Extreme Masters XIV Chicago, BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, and a couple more tournaments.

Their main achievement coincided with the victory at ESL One: Cologne 2019. After becoming champions of that event, Team Liquid also claimed the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 trophy. Mind-blowing! Still, Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip climbed even higher than that. Literally. After beating Team Vitality in the tournament finals, Stewie2k sprang from his seat in joy and climbed onto the table to continue celebrating the victory.

Woxic & gla1ve on one stage

Özgür “woxic” Eker is famous to viewers for his insane mouse sensitivity — and emotionality, too. Back in his Hellraisers days, he experienced a funny bumblebee attack, and during his ESL Pro League Season 10 wins, he was never able to hide his jubilation. This is especially clear if you take a look at his winning moment in the semifinals.

Mousesports — the team woxic played for at the time — had a very tough Bo3 match against Astralis. And yet, even though Danes pressed on and on with all guns blazing, mouz managed to snatch that victory in the thirtieth round of the third map.

After the match, two opposite stories unfolded on the scene. On one side, you’ve got the mousesports players, happily hugging each other, and on the other, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander. The captain of the Danish squad was furiously beating the table in frustration over the loss in such a tight match. As a matter of fact, many pros demonstrate the habit of hitting the table. Nevertheless, displays of emotions that are that unrestrained are few and far between. A really tough post-match moment.

O PLANO player devouring air

Let’s finish off with another rather unconventional way to celebrate a win. As you may have guessed by now, team O PLANO had a pretty tough match this one time. At cs_summit 8, an RMR tournament for the American region, O PLANO’s Brazilian squad barely made it out of Group A, finishing third out of four. In the first match of the lower bracket, the club had to face paiN Gaming. It was a great occasion to take revenge for the in the group stage.

The rematch lasted for three maps. On the first one, Nuke, O PLANO’s attacking play was a disaster, with exactly zero rounds won out of ten attempts. Nevertheless, the team managed to pull themselves together and turn the match around. The match ended 2:1 in favor of O PLANO.

After such a difficult game, the Brazilian players celebrated accordingly, but in different ways. For instance, Leonardo “leo_drk” Oliveira raised middle fingers at his camera, while his teammate Vinicius “v$m” Moreira decided to mock the opposing team in a more sophisticated way. He performed a little pantomime where he “cut and ate” his opponent. It looks pretty darn stylish — check the whole thing out for yourself.
