2024 is expected to be extremely rich in esports events. Numerous exciting tournaments and two majors, with all of this happening during the evolving era of Counter-Strike 2. Logically, new faces will emerge on the tier-1 scene. Today, CS.MONEY Blog will try to look into the future and suggest the nicknames of five players to keep an eye on in 2024.
What could be more interesting than watching Counter-Strike? Playing Counter-Strike! And playing Counter-Strike with cool skins is even better. Visit CS.MONEY and choose the perfect skin from a huge selection for every taste!
Donk (Team Spirit)
Let’s start with a fairly obvious choice. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets caught the attention of the esports community at the end of last year, with rumours circulating that many wanted to sign the super-talented sixteen-year-old (!) Russian player. This year could be a breakthrough for him, as Donk started strong, showcasing an impressive average rating of 1.61 in the five maps of RMR Closed Quals. His match against Preasy ended with a rating of 1.99, something we usually see in one-sided matches but this one had overtime! Donk’s Highlights can be seen here:
Team Spirit is known for its good management and even better scouting, so it will be interesting to see Danil’s development, as he has great talent.
Skullz (Team Liquid)
The reason we chose Felipe “Skullz” Medeiros is quite simple: he’s a relatively unknown Brazilian player but Team Liquid picked him up for their international lineup, so that means a lot. With Team Liquid having a solid roster, Skullz might bring something very interesting to the squad.
What we know about Skullz? Before Team Liquid he played for teams like PaiN Gaming and Team oNe. In 2022, DRAFTS included him in the top ten Brazilian players in their region. Skullz is given a huge opportunity, and it will be fascinating to follow this young talent in CS2.
MATYS (Fnatic)
Fnatic is also known for its management. They tend to find young talents and grow them into something really cool. Their CS squad underwent a major restructuring a month ago, changing three players: Bodyy, kyuubii, and MATYS joined the new lineup. And it’s MATYS who currently has the highest rating. This twenty-one-year-old player has played for ENTERPRISE Esports and Team Sampi before, but Fnatic is his first big chance to break into the Tier-1 scene. Can he make it?
dgt (9z)
Among many South American teams, perhaps the most interesting in terms of potential high results is 9z Team. This org likes to work with young players, pulling them from their academy, HUASOPEEK. However, dgt is considered 9z’s veteran even though he’s 23. And he’s still their main star. If 9z makes a breakthrough, it will be closely tied to dgt and his worthy performances.
Magnojez (Spirit Academy)
Let’s pay attention to another player in Team Spirit’s ecosystem. Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov’s huge potential was mentioned by sh1ro, among others. When predicting breakthroughs last year, sh1ro mentioned Donk, and now we’re not surprised by the hype around him. So, Sh1ro might know something.
However, Magnojez has a longer path ahead, compared to Donk, but he is already the main star of Spirit Academy, and his statistics are impressive. Kirill performed well in the eighth season of European Pro League Division 2. Let’s see how he performs against more serious opponents.
The competition season has only just begun and we have plenty of surprises ahead. Also, Valve may soon release a new case with skins! And before this happens, have time to sell your stuff on CS.MONEY or buy new items to withhold a possible online peak.
