Mass Effect loadout

A remake of the entire Mass Effect trilogy was released the other day. Mass Effect is one of the most famous sci-fi game series of the last decades. And if you loved saving the galaxy, wooing aliens, and choosing your favorite store on the Citadel too, enjoy this selection of Mass Effect themed skins from the CS.MONEY blog.

Mass Effect is a sci-fi universe best known for its video games: the Commander Shepard trilogy and the spin-off about the colonization of Andromeda. There are also two video games for smartphones, books, comic books, board games, and lots of other stuff.

Unlike Halo or Warhammer, Mass Effect doesn’t have its own series of skins or sticker capsule. However, this didn’t stop us from making this selection. We chose some perfect specimens from the multiplicity of skins in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and made a collection for the true fans of this sci-fi universe.

AWP Redline

Let’s start with some genuine gems, namely with the Redline skins. They match the standard N7 armor perfectly. And it’s not just the red-and-black color scheme but also the texture. The carbon background of AWP Redline is very similar to the lining of the Onyx armor suit from the game.

It’s exactly the suit that the protagonist is wearing in all promo artworks and on the cover art of the game. The only major difference between the AWP skin and the armor is the absence of white stripes on the former. If you leave out this detail though, the skin is in perfect harmony with the appearance of the series’ protagonist.

AK-47 Vulcan

Resisting the urge to recommend AK-47 Redline was difficult, but we coped with it. Instead of this fantastic skin, we recommend AK-47 Vulcan. Not only does it look futuristic, but its color scheme also blends extremely well with the Alliance rifles from the game.

Black background, white accents, and blue elements — this description fits AK-47 Vulcan and a whole bunch of guns from the sci-fi video game, from M-7 Lancer to M-37 Falcon. Note the texture again. It goes extraordinarily well with the Mass Effect esthetics. Excellent choice.

M4A4 Asiimov

The armor of Cerberus, one of the organizations in the Mass Effect world, combines white, black, and orange. Well… sounds a lot like M4A4 Asiimov! It’s even weird that Cerberus members wield gray and unsightly massive rifles instead of such vibrant guns in Mass Effect

M4A4 Asiimov is perfect match only color-wise, but also shape-wise. Chopped elements, bright accents, and sharp transitions — just what the doctor ordered. It’s a great skin that’s very easy to decorate with a whole bunch of cool stickers.

Desert Eagle Mecha Industries

One of the weapon classes in Mass Effect is heavy pistols — powerful guns that annihilate any enemy armor. N7 Eagle is one of these. It has a white body, black grip, and red stripes.

Finding a gun like that in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was child’s play. Desert Eagle Mecha Industries is similar to its namesake from Mass Effect in terms of both appearance and reputation. Don’t forget that N7 Eagle is named after the Deagle according to the game’s lore.

USP-S Cyrex

Another skin that makes a perfect addition for the protagonist’s armor. Black, red, and white colors can be found on only one USP skin — USP-S Cyrex. Fortunately, it’s great as a futuristic gun.

In Mass Effect, there are no regular pistols, with submachine guns replacing them. Therefore, to find an analogue of USP-S Cyrex was impossible. However, the skin for the USP could be an excellent substitute for the game’s M-11 Suppressor. This Mass Effect 3 gun ruins the balance more dramatically than the release of the revolver R8 a couple of years ago.

Specialist Gloves Tiger Strike

In addition to the rifle and armor, many of the artworks depict Commander Shepard posing with one more piece of equipment. We’re talking about the omni-tool, that golden-orange thingy that kind of hangs over his/her wrist. The omni-tool functions as a Swiss knife. The protagonist uses it to cut through closed doors and the opponent’s chest with equal success.

We couldn’t possibly bypass this piece of equipment. You can reproduce that orange gadget with gloves and knife. And it’s Specialist Gloves Tiger Strike that we opted for. The dark base, orange color, and white accents fit very well into the Mass Effect design style. Now all that’s left to choose is the second part of our omni-tool.

M9 Bayonet Tiger Tooth

The second element of the omni-tool will be M9 Bayonet Tiger Tooth. Making this choice took a lot of pondering. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has several yellow/orange knife patterns and dozens of blades.

Eventually, we settled on M9 Bayonet Tiger Tooth. There are two reasons for that. First: the brutal look of the knife that produces an impression of being intimidating and effective at the same time. Besides, the bayonet knife is also somewhat of a multi-tool. On the back of M9 Bayonet, you can spot a saw, for example.

The second reason: Tiger Tooth is the ultimate orange pattern for knives. That’s the go-to option! And considering that the gloves have the same style, this set looks great on its own, even apart from the theme of today’s collection.
