How many CS2 cases were opened in May?
Last month, players opened almost 40 million cases. That’s a lot, but not a record. In April 2023, 10 million more cases were opened. The popularity of cases last month was as follows:
- Fever Case – ~11 million;
- Revolution Case – ~4.7 million;
- Dreams & Nightmares Case – ~4.2 million;
- Kilowatt Case – ~3.3 million;
- Fracture Case – ~3.3 million;
- Recoil Case – ~3.2 million.

How much did Valve earn from CS2 cases?
In monetary terms, 40 million opened cases amount to about 100,000,000 dollars. The amount is not just large, it’s huge. You could buy a private island, a couple of castles in Europe, a Ferrari car collection, and still have enough left over for a hundred or two gold bars. And since the beginning of this year, players have opened more than 150 million cases. That’s almost 400,000,000 dollars.
Why were so many CS2 cases opened in May?
The release of new cases usually causes a spike in the number of openings for the month. But the Fever Case hit two targets at once. First, it’s a new case with new skins. The AWP Printstream, Glock-18 Shinobu, and Desert Eagle Serpent Strike have already found fans among players.
Secondly, the appearance of new knives! Skeleton Knife, Nomad Knife, Paracord Knife, and Survival Knife got Chroma finishes for the first time ever. But that’s not all! Right after the release, the case had a “bug” – the chance of pulling a Doppler knife was significantly higher than for other knives. As a result, even more players rushed to open the Fever Case. Altogether, this created increased demand for the new case. And that demand still exists.
How many CS2 cases will be opened in June?
No one knows the answer to that question. But for the fifth month in a row now, the number of cases opened has been growing. Perhaps with the start of summer, players will open even more cases. But here’s a tip for you – if you want to see an AWP Printstream or a Skeleton Knife Doppler in your inventory, better not open cases and instead go shopping on CS.MONEY.
