Counter-Strike 2 official release brought many new things to the game. And stickers are no exception. Stickers in CS:GO and CS2 always were existed for one particular reason: to add individuality. When done right, they can add hundreds of style points to your skin. How do you apply stickers to weapons in CS2?
You can apply stickers in CS2 the very same way you previously did it in CS:GO. There were many rumours in the community that Valve would allow players to determine where to place stickers on a weapon and moreover, how many, but still, none of this has been implemented in Counter-Strike 2.
As before, we have four slots on most skins allowing you to apply stickers. To decorate your skin, you need to:
- Go to the “Inventory” tab in the game client.
- Select the sticker you want and right-click.
- Click on “Apply sticker.”
- Choose the skin to which you wish to apply it.
- Select a position from the available ones.
- Confirm the position.
- Apply the sticker.
How stickers changed in CS2?
Transitioning to a new graphics engine means certain changes in weapon models. Thus, not all crafts have made it into the new game absolutely the same.
Some stickers have changed in size, and some sticker positions also shifted. This is most noticeable with Desert Eagle, where CS2 crafts look significantly different from what you had in CS:GO.
What can be said for sure is that stickers look different in CS2 due to the updated lighting. This could be seen especially well for stickers with effects like Holographic or Gold. With Source 2, they shimmer more brightly, and their visual value has significantly increased.
At the same time, Valve actively fixes bugs and works on stickers so that the current situation can change significantly. It’s worth remembering this and not rushing into unique crafts, as the final result in several months may differ from what you expect now.
Updated rules for scraping stickers
Scraped stickers now also look a little different. But it applies not to all sticker, just some of them. Although, many stickers (mostly tournament ones) have benefited from this change! Various signature stickers lose their background, but the autographs remain quite clear. You can observe the same with some team logo stickers.
But with most other stickers, the situation has somewhat worsened. It’s worth noting that these patterns can still change: Valve has a lot of work ahead for Counter-Strike 2 to make the game perfect, and stickers are just one small item on a huge to-do list.
Even though stickers are not yet in their final state, and some things may still change, the situation with CS:GO skins is entirely different.
