The other day, Valve released stickers with RMR teams. And then… they released them again! This begs the questions “What changed?” and “Why do such things?” — and CS.MONEY is here to answer them.
What happened?
Last year, there was no Major, and consequently, no other trappings of these tournaments. No stickers, no case drop, no teeth-grinding playoff games. The first item on this list is the most important: it’s common knowledge that stickers bring teams and players a lot of money.
To fix this problem, Valve decided to take the most logical and obvious measure — to release stickers! And there are really a lot. The logos of as many as twenty-four teams appeared on these stickers. But there’s one drawback.
Neon ninjas
Suddenly, it turned out that not all logos looked like they were supposed to. Specifically, the Ninjas in Pyjamas sticker was the furthest from reality. In the new capsules, the sticker contained the old color scheme of the team: beige and brown. The item looked good though, and many have already applied it to their favorite AK.
If you go to the site of the club, you’ll see right away that now they use another color. Namely, yellow with a touch of green. And not just on the site. In social networks, such as YouTube, they also use a new logo with a new color. In short, Valve has dropped the proverbial ball.
Hotfix
As a result, another patch had to be released. The hotfix fixed a gameplay bug and replaced the Ninjas in Pyjamas and Vitality stickers. The logo of the French team simply got larger. But all three Ninjas in Pyjamas stickers were redrawn in a new color.
This is where the problem emerges. The stickers in the capsules have been replaced, as well as those that already exist in the game. Because of this, some skins and stickers combos now look ugly and clumsy, like a McDonald’s in the Coliseum.
What do we do?
We put up with it. Now we have a new look for the Ninjas in Pyjamas sticker. We like the new sticker: it’s vivid and matches the new image and style of the club. We can only express how we feel sorry for those who’ve already done some crafting with the old sticker design. On AK-47 Wasteland Rebel, they looked just awesome!
By the way, if you don’t want to risk losing your stickers and getting a pig in a poke, be sure to try our 3D-builder. There, you can apply any sticker to any skin, rotate the items directly in the browser, and even immediately calculate the price of the craft. If you’re a sticker enthusiast, this is a must-have for you.
