AWP by 2minds and the golden AK-47. All about Operation Riptide skins

19480

Many CS:GO players love operations, and even more of them love great skins. The other day saw the release of the brand-new Operation Riptide, along with several new collections and a case. Today, the CS.MONEY Blog will take a look at the most exciting guns added in the update.

Desert Eagle Ocean Drive by kiku

Despite its nerf, we’ll start off with the Desert Eagle. The Covert skin off the Riptide Case, Ocean Drive, is a perfect weapon finish for those into bright and diverse color palettes. The vibrant and organic combination of shades of blue, red, and orange will unfailingly impress fans of this powerful (even if not as powerful as before) pistol.

AK-47 Leet Museo by Oscar

Another colorful skin. The AK-47 Leet Museo by Oscar depicts abstract figures looking like heads in balaclavas, and a coast. On the magazine and buttstock, there are also two chickens. The colors chosen by the creator are very soft, and the shapes were apparently inspired by Picasso.

SSG 08 Turbo Peek by K A S I and Sparkwire

For fans of the light sniper rifle SSG 08, Operation Riptide features the Turbo Peek skin. The racing cars depicted on the gun hint at the high movement speed with this gun in hand. Supercars and a red-and-yellow gradient are a perfect combo, sure to impress countless snipers in the game. For real-life sniper missions though, the color palette is totally inappropriate. Still, for CS:GO, it’s just what the doctor ordered!

Glock-18 Snack Attack by Sparkwire and 2Minds

The tandem of creators, Sparkwire and 2Minds, joined forces to draw some fast foods in cartoon style, against a stylish dark background. The packs of fries look really cute here. So do King Shark’s new friends from the recently released The Suicide Squad, who *SPOILER* didn’t actually turn out to be friends at all. Not to worry, however, these won’t bite — it’s definitely safe to opt for this skin.

M4A4 The Coalition by SLIMEface

The prize item of the 2021 Train Collection is the M4A4 The Coalition. A shiny skin saturated with gold is the ultimate choice for those enjoying vibrant guns. The M4A4 will perfectly match your yellow gloves and will look great in your inventory beside golden knives.

Glock-18 Gamma Doppler

To make the Train Collection complete, the devs included the Glock-18 pistol Gamma Doppler into it. Previously, we could see this look on knives. If you liked Glock-18 Fade but didn’t buy it because of the warm colors, your problem has now been solved.

USP-S Whiteout

On top of the existing MP-7 and P250 Whiteout, the update brought us this USP-S. An extremely simple yet elegant CT pistol skin is a fine example of minimalism. The weapon goes best with the Driver Gloves Snow Leopard.

R8-Revolver Blaze

“More badass skins must go with Operation Riptide!” Apparently, that was the thought process behind Valve’s decision to add the Blaze skin, as we know it from the Desert Eagle, for the R8-Revolver. But while this extremely popular Deagle skin is quite pricey (about $400), its R8 counterpart is much cheaper. If you’re good with this device and haven’t updated your inventory in a while, don’t hesitate to pick it.

AWP Desert Hydra by 2Minds

Renowned skin-makers 2Minds gave us a fantastic AWP with a deadly Hydra on it — a snake-like creature from ancient Greek mythology. The elegant white sight and barrel nicely complement the fore-end and buttstock of the rifle, executed in red and yellow. The next Dragon Lore has arrived?

Desert Eagle Fennec Fox by 2Minds

The Desert Eagle Fennec Fox is another creation of 2Minds, who designed the aforementioned sniper rifle. The formidable looks of the predatory fox suggest just how deadly this gun can be in capable hands. Also, the color palette goes perfectly with the Specialist Gloves Crimson Kimono. To cap it all, this Deagle looks good as a second weapon for a sniper with an AWP Desert Hydra. A great tandem!

MP-5 SD Oxide Oasis

The MP-5 SD, which is so good against unarmored targets, is now available as the Oxide Oasis skin. The minimalist color pattern is a mix of orange and green. The look is reminiscent of metallic corrosion and may appeal to fans of monochrome weapon finishes.

AK-47 Gold Arabesque

One of the surprises of this update. Previously, Valve’s guidelines prohibited gold skins. Yet, as we can see, the rules may change over time. Along with Operation Riptide, Valve gives you the AK-47 Gold Arabesque — a gold AK with a leather-like pattern on the buttstock and forearm. The skin is part of the Dust 2 2021 Collection. Our guess is, Admiral-General Haffaz Aladeen would’ve immediately pre-ordered this device 🙂

SSG 08 Death Strike by Graff

Simple and exquisite. On his SSG 08 Death Strike, creator Graff depicted a scorpion. The metaphor is crystal clear: super-fast movement combined with a swift and lethal attack. That’s exactly the vibes this rifle will emanate for your opponents if you’re an experienced sniper.

M4A4-S Imminent Danger by SLIMEface

The M4A1-S Imminent Danger dropped as part of the Vertigo 2021 Collection. After the M4A1-S buff, we should expect it to be seen more frequently in-game. High time you updated your skin for the gun. And if you happen to dig graffiti as well, this design was made for you.

The creator SLIMEface masterfully encapsulated both the feeling of danger and the gloomy silence associated with this assault rifle in one skin. Also, the motley inscriptions and drawings are gorgeous.

SG 553 Hazard Pay by Nextgenz

The last item on our list of firearms skins is the SG 553 Hazard Pay. The yellow pattern is literally begging for a combo with the Moto Gloves Transport. Additionally, it renders this weapon finish a great candidate for the next selection of yellow skins.

Awesome knives from the new case

We can’t help but mention the knife skins off the new case. The Bowie Knife, Butterfly Knife, Falchion Knife, Huntsman Knife, and Shadow Daggers are now available as the following skins: Black Laminate, Autotronic, Gamma Doppler, Lore, Freehand, and Bright Water. There are no new types of knives, but the variety of skins alone is pure joy for those into experiments with different knives-and-gloves combos.
