To this end, binds will be of great help. A bind is a command or a list of commands assigned to a particular key. They allow you to make shots with 10-out-of-10 accuracy.
But what are binds for?
You can throw a grenade in 4 different ways: while standing, while running, with one step, or while jumping. These options can be combined with throwing power, with the final result being a complex of factors.
There are two easy options in this complex: while standing and while running. They don’t require any binds; all you need is to make the throw. Besides, the result of the throw doesn’t depend on the tick rate or any other game parameter.
There’s a big problem with another two options — walkthrow and jumpthrow. It’s all about speed: you can barely calculate it, so the trajectory can vary significantly. These are exactly the problems that binds help to solve.
How do I set binds?
First of all, a bind is a console command, which is why it’s possible to make it work in two ways. The first is to write it in the developer console. The second: to save it in the config.

Also, you’ll need to find out your tick rate. If you’re playing on regular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive servers, for example on competitive ones, it’ll amount to 64. On servers with a 128 tick rate, the trajectory of the grenade can be different. Sometimes not dramatically, yet in certain cases, it’s a completely different throw.
Runthrow
A runthrow is a grenade throw performed while walking. The moment the key is pressed, the bind causes the player to walk forward and also “triggers” the throw.
The bind itself, i.e. what you’ll need to put into the console or config, looks like this:
bind “key” “+forward;-attack;-attack2;-forward”
Instead of the word “key,” you’ll need to write a convenient button. The bind has one notable feature. For it to work, the bind key has to be held down until the grenade flies.
Jumpthrow
As you can guess from the name, the jumpthrow is a grenade throw performed in a jump.
In the console, you’ll have to type the following:
bind “key” “+jump;-attack;-attack2;-jump”
To throw a grenade while jumping, you need to:
- Hold down the attack button.
- Press the button you assigned to the bind.
What does this bind do? It makes the player jump and throw the grenade at the same moment. The result is 100% accuracy for every throw.
RMB+LMB Bind
You probably noticed that every bind has the “-attack;-attack2;” combination. Those are the two commands that “bind” the attack key, allowing you to make a throw. But why two? Because you can do both strong throws — -attack — and weak — -attack2. Usually, it’s the left and right mouse button, respectively.
You can also combine these two buttons. The last bind for today is RMB+LMB. Here it is:
bind “key” “-attack;-attack2”
To use it, you need to press the two mouse buttons, no matter in what order. Then, press the key to which you assigned the bind. Now the nade will fly in a completely different trajectory. Without the command, it can’t be reproduced.
