Official Maps From CS2 Beta
Dust 2 in CS2
CS2’s first official map that got into Closed Beta is categorized as Touchstone, meaning, it has minimal changes except for lighting and visual improvements. Dust 2 hits different in CS2. Right?
Mirage in CS2
Another classic Counter-Strike map and another Touchstone. Mirage in CS2 look almost the same. And despite some players requesting changes, the developers seem reluctant to alter what already works well.
Vertigo in CS2
One more Touchstone map. CS2 Vertigo is available in the closed test and has polarized opinions among players.
Overpass in CS2
Finally, a CS2 map that was changed significantly! Moreover, if a map gets into the Overhaul category, it means that it has been reworked from scratch. Overpass CS2 changes include lighting, textures, and slight fixes to some spots, making gameplay more enjoyable.
Nuke in CS2
The legendary Nuke sits in the Upgrade category, receiving significant visual improvements, making it a very cool map from a visual perspective. But not reworked entirely, only graphically.
Office in CS2
Office in CS2 was released together with Nuke. It’s a favorable map adored by many casual players. In CS2 Closed Beta it is available with numerous improvements.
Maps Shown in Valve’s CS2 Videos
Valve posted a video detailing map changes in CS 2, revealing some locations not yet presented in the game. These may appear in later betas or the final release of CS2.
Ancient in CS2
The spiritual successor to Aztec, which will stay in CS2 as it’s currently in the competitive map pool. Do you like Ancient or you would perma-ban it?
Train in CS2
Train in CS2 might happen. Lots of players want this iconic map to be back. Would it be a Touchstone rework? Or Overhaul? While there may not be significant changes, its potential return to the competitive map pool remains uncertain.
Italy in CS2
In CS:GO and Source, Italy was very popular among hostage scenario enjoyers. Most likely, it will receive a major rework in CS2, promising top-notch gameplay and new design, lighting, and references.
Baggage in CS2
The classic Arms Race map will return in Counter-Strike 2 with a significant upgrade, similar to Nuke’s improvements.
CS2 Maps Leaked By Dataminers
After the CS2 announcement, dataminers started looking for other maps that might be included, although these have not been officially confirmed. Which one would you like to see next in the game?
Inferno in CS2
Given its popularity among both professional athletes and casual matchmaking players, it’s likely that a new version of Inferno will be introduced in CS2. The main question is what will it look like? Above are some mined screenshots. Might be a fake, though!
Shoots in CS2
Shoots is a CS Arms Race map, which may undergo setting changes and resemble Aztec or Ancient.
Canals in CS2
Despite not making it to the competitive map pool, it has a small but loyal fan base. Who knows, maybe it will receive a status upgrade in the future.
Lake in CS2
Often used in Arms Race and Wingman modes, Lake could get some significant graphics changes. It will be interesting to see how player models interact with water near the house.
Shortdust in CS2
Another map for the Wingman mode. It may not be a priority, so its release in CS 2 might take time.
Community-Made CS2 Maps
Santorini in CS2
Being developed by the well-known mapmaker FMPONE, this map was previously released for CS:GO during the Wildfire operation.
Cache in CS2
FMPONE also plans to create a version of Cache for Counter-Strike 2. When will it happen? Only the mapmaker himself knows. When will Valve add it to CS2? It’s even a harder question to answer.
Generally, Counter-Strike 2 is expected to have a variety of maps, and the developers have been actively adding new ones. Players can look forward to the future with hope and excitement!
