This offseason has been marked by one of the biggest reshuffles in the professional CS:GO scene. The explanation is simple: since the next Major is just under a year away and will be played on CS2, now is the perfect time to experiment. There is still enough time to build chemistry, and in the long run, teams that have changed their rosters have a better chance of surpassing teams that try to solve their problems within. In this article, CS.MONEY Blog will talk about the five biggest roster changes in CS:GO of summer 2023 among the world’s top teams.

NAVI’s New Roster

  • Gone: Npl, electroNic, Perfecto
  • New: Aleksib, iM, jL

NAVI are undoubtedly the main newsmaker of this summer. After a disappointing Major in Paris, where the team surprisingly failed to reach the Playoffs, it was clear that changes were necessary. While replacing Npl was expected simply because Andrij Kukharsjkyj couldn’t keep up with the team’s needs, such a lifechanging update that includes three players and a captain was quite unexpected.

AleksiB waiting for his haters to show up.

The decision to part ways with Electronic and Perfecto is quite bold. AleksiB joined the team as a replacement, and while he is considered a recognized captain, he has yet to achieve significant success. Young riflers iM and jL still need to prove to be well-deserved for tier-1 scene. Although the Romanian player became the main breakthrough of the Major in Paris (only the tournament’s MVP, ZywOo, had a higher average rating than him), distance separates great players from the truly exceptional ones.

It’s also worth noting the passion of the Lithuanian newcomer for cool skins. For example, his inventory includes a USP-S Printstream with holographic Team Dignitas stickers from ESL One Cologne 14. The most exciting part is that the float value of this pistol is the third lowest in the world! On the other hand, iM has an M4A4 Eye of Horus from the top 100 float ratings in his inventory.

Will NAVI perform well with this roster and a newly-introduced all-English communication? Most likely, they will not be dominant in tier-1 tournaments for a long time. However, if the team’s puzzle pieces come together correctly, we can expect a powerful lineup with a good chance of world domination in 2024.

A Change For Major Champions, Team Vitality

Hello there, FlameZ!
  • Gone: dupreeh
  • New: flameZ

It seems that even winning a Major can’t guarantee stability. Team Vitality decided to keep looking for perfection and signed former OG player flameZ. The Israeli rifler became one of the most discussed players during this offseason, and his decision not to extend the contract with OG significantly increased his attractiveness to other teams.

So, Team Vitality parted ways with their veteran player, Dupreeh. There were rumours that one of the best players in the history of CS:GO planned to retire, but he himself denied it, and now the Danish player is forced to look for a new team.

Will the French team succeed in the long run? Let’s wait for a couple of years.

Major Finalist siuhy Returns to MOUZ

  • Former team: GamerLegion
  • Current team: MOUZ

Sometimes excessive success can be destructive. GamerLegion experienced that lately. After a sensational second-place finish at the BLATS.tv Paris Major 2023, the scene’s big orgs decided to dismantle the team and lure its outstanding players. We have already mentioned iM’s move to NAVI, but the team also lost its captain.

Siuhy decided to return to MOUZ. He played for MOUZ Academy some time ago. MOUZ’s current lineup is extremely interesting: a hungry young team ready to tear and grinding before CS2. Siuhy already knows his teammates Torszi and Xertion well because they dominated multiple seasons of WePlay Academy League together. We should keep an eye on the current MOUZ team because they have the potential to break into the global elite.

EliGE Leaves Team Liquid After Eight Years

A sad day for Liquid fans.
  • Former team: Team Liquid
  • Current team: Complexity

This transfer deserves special attention because it truly marks the end of an era. Players changed in Team Liquid over the course of eight years, but EliGE was always there. Now, Liquid has decided to become a European team, and there was no place for Jonathan in the revamped roster. EliGE, known for his love of default skins, will play for Complexity, perhaps the last hope of the North American scene.

Massive Roster Changes in OG

  • Gone: flameZ, degster, NEOFRAG, niko
  • New: FASHR, k1to, regali, nexa

In its previous iteration OG never managed to achieve significant victories. Yes, they were always close to the top and could surprise from time to time, but the project failed to achieve all its goals. Four players are leaving the organization, and a new generation of OG is led by Nexa, who is best known for his performances with G2.

This time, he has several extremely talented players, but can the Serbian IGL guide them to trophies?
