Will Zeus become a meta weapon? How good is it?
Now, Zeus x27 is no longer a disposable weapon; the taser received a 30-second cooldown. At first glance, this change seems significant, but is it so?
Killing with Zeus x27 still doesn’t bring you money. Furthermore, in high-level matches, a 30-second cooldown is likely to have minimal impact. Either you make a successful shot out of nowhere but your opponents gain information about you and the second shot won’t work, or you miss and there’s a high chance you’ll be taken down while switching weapons.
Has Zues x27 become better? Well, at least its potential grew. In shortened matches (MP12) where the economy is crucial to the game, spending $200 on a taser capable to one-click an opponent at short range up to three meters (and consequently hurting their economy) may be a justified risk. In a dre economy situation, when the map allows you to execute a surprise, Zeus could work. Such a bold move once per map might be successful and turn the game around. However, not consistently.
As a minor indirect buff, there’s also a change in the CS2 net code. Valve stated that they managed to reduce the peeker’s advantage, therefore, we may see interesting cheese tactics in defence, but overall, this change won’t shift the meta significantly.
Tips for playing with Zeus x27
The most important advice: don’t buy Zeus x27 every round! Considering it doesn’t provide any bonus cash, using Zeus consistently may result in a couple of frags but will result in damaged economy and ruin your game. In the current situation, it’s a good decision for eco rounds with minimal buys.
Zeus x27 is a lurker’s tool first of all. To make it work, you have to catch your opponents off guard. Since its lethal range is about three meters, you should choose a very close corner somewhere on the map and camp as hell. For example, it could be Nuke’s ventilation or Inferno’s boiler room. Just take a look at how Ropz here cheezes his opponent with a Zeus! He made four frags during IEM Katowice, more than with a Deagle!
Executing Zeus x27 when playing CT is easier since you have to wait for them to act. Still, when you’re attacking and have an eco, you can also punish opponents if they rush without checking corners. Simple as it could be: shoot when in range, that’s all. If you kill them, pick up their weapon; if you miss, you’ve almost lost nothing. This algorithm has been effective for quite a long time.
Best Sticker Crafts with Zeus x27 Olympus
Since Zeus x27 in CS2 gameplay changes are minimal, let’s talk about its brand new skin. We’ve known for several months that skins for Zeus were just a matter of time. However, it was pretty cool to learn that a Zeus skin is a part of the regular drop, not a Gold Item like knives or gloves.
Zeus Olympus is a fitting first skin. Ancient Greek’s god of thunder and lightning will strike opponents with a high-voltage discharge. Simple and glorious; suits best. Bout now, with the sticker update, we can also combine it with some cool stickers to create a great combo, fun or serious. Here are a few stickers that fit nicely with Zeus Olympus:
- NAVI Zeus Autographs. Speaking of Zeus x27, most would recall Zeus, the legendary captain of Natus Vincere.
- Nice Shot. Although it doesn’t match the colour scheme of Zeus Olympus, it perfectly reflects the essence: Zeus is a one-shot weapon, and it’s better if the shot is accurate.
- I conquered. A sticker featuring a lightning bolt should naturally be considered for crafting.
- Titan. This sticker combines well with the skin on multiple parameters. First, it’s a blue logo fitting the colour scheme. Also, it’s an expensive and iconic option, as any Titan sticker is considered a luxury. And yes, Titans, like Zeus, belong to Ancient Greek mythology.
- Great Wave and Tornado Chaos. These stickers embody the turmoil of nature, often accompanied by lightning. They also fit well into the colour scheme.
The Arms Deal update will change Counter-Strike 2 significantly, but not all changes are so obvious. CS2 continues to please its players, and we will eagerly await future updates from Valve. And remember: skins are best bought with CS.MONEY, cheap and quickly!
