Desert Eagle, also called Deagle, is one of the most iconic weapons ever, not only in CS2. Deagle starred in movies, books and, of course, videogames. And Counter-Strike was one of the first series to glorify this pistol. Desert Eagle received a special status almost on the day of the game’s release! It’s almost literally a hand cannon: too strong to handle, too heavy to carry. Today CS.MONEY Blog explains all you need to know about Desert Eagle in CS2, names its strong and weak sides, teaches how to play with it and show the best skins.
When you learn how to play with Deagle, be sure to buy yourself a skin for it! At low prices and with a convenient filter system, this can be done on CS.MONEY. Shop now!
Desert Eagle’s Strong Sides: One-shots, Accuracy, Damage
Deagle’s main advantage is the ability to kill with one hit. At a distance of up to fifty meters, a headshot is deadly no matter the context. Among pistols, only Desert Eagle and R8 Revolver can do this. And that’s a very useful and strong thing about this gun. If you’re accurate and fast with a Deagle, winning a duel against rifles with just one shot might seem pretty imbalanced.
Another strong side is its high accuracy. At a distance of up to 25 meters, Deagle has no problem hitting the enemy heads, which is the best result among all pistols in the game. Considering how lethal its headshots are, we have a full-fledged weapon.
Desert Eagle’s third strong side is its high base damage and damage to armor. Deagle is one of the top three pistols in terms of damage per second, with only CZ75-Auto and Tec-9 sitting higher (purely because of their fire rate). In practice, at a short distance you can fire a couple of shots into the body and have your frag easily. And Desert Eagle also looks cool and brutal, surely.
Desert Eagle’s Weak Sides: Too Many
Desert Eagle is the most expensive pistol in CS2. $700 doesn’t seem like much, but its kill bounty is just regular which makes investing in Deagle a risky thing. Desert Eagle in one round could mean no flashbangs or smokes the next round. Therefore, buying this pistol should be a thoughtful decision.
In addition to the price, Deagle’s recoil is unbearable. Your first and second shots are more or less accurate but the remaining five are just random. Considering that it takes three hits to the body to frag, such recoil denies spamming with LMB clicks. Speaking of, Desert Eagle’s magazine only holds seven bullets. With a two-second reload, such a small magazine can be a serious problem.
And also, Deagle’s movespeed. Running with Desert Eagle is a bit slower compared to other pistols, and even though the difference is not that big, moving with this gun is still slower than with other guns.
How to play with Desert Eagle in CS2?
Remember one thing when you play with Desert Eagle: always aim for the head. This may seem obvious, but being able to land headshots with Deagle is critical. Train your aim as much as possible so that every shot is effective. You should also pay attention to your sight position: you have to always aim it at the right place in advance and only then click the mouse.
Also, spam with Deagle only at a very short distance, literally two or three meters. If the distance is greater, take a short pause between each shot. Deagle’s full recoil cooldown takes almost a second, so you should make wider intervals between pressing the trigger.
Finally, don’t buy Desert Eagle every round. Yes, its power is seductive but increased damage and loud shots won’t bring you victory just because its cool. Wins are made of economy, team coordination, and avoiding unnecessary risks. Buying Desert Eagle every round barely meets these criteria.
