Few people know, iBUYPOWER (Holo) | Katowice 2014 is a team logo sticker. What’s the story begins sticker that’s worth $12,000 and where do people use it? Let’s find out!
At the beginning of 2015, a match-fixing scandal broke out with iBUYPOWER players in the centre of attention. Back in August 2014, they decided to put skins against themselves on one popular resource at that time and ruined the game against NetCodeGuides at the CEVO Professional Season 5 tournament.
A team with the strange name iBUYPOWER, taken in honour of the title sponsor, was one of the first major organizations in the NA esports CS:GO. The North American team was founded on October 25, 2013. From 2013 to 2015 they’ve dominated in their region and fought with the best teams in the world at major tournaments, including ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014, ESL One: Cologne 2014 and DreamHack Winter 2014.
Check the highlights of this game and you will see how obvious and clumsy iBP players are botching the game:
After the proceedings, Valve announced that such behaviour had no place in their game, and decided to permanently ban players and the iBUYPOWER management, alongside with NetCodeGuides executives in Valve tournaments. Following the example of Valve, all the major tournament operators of that time also blocked the team, and the iBUYPOWER organization terminated the contract with the players. Since then they have never sponsored an eSports team.
Best of all, this sticker, like its holo version, looks on red skins, for example:
Sticker iBUYPOWER Katowice 2014 looks like a bright red profile of an angry wild animal, presumably a cougar. Under it flaunts the name of the team and the name of the tournament.
iBUYPOWER (Holo) | Katowice 2014 is not much different from the regular version. The red cougar glistens and shimmers in the light, like a laminated collection card.
It also appears that sticker iBUYPOWER Katowice 2014 looks really well in contrast with a bright blue:
Like on the M4A4 Bullet Rain, where it complements the red elements of the skin.
At one time it was also considered very fashionable to add the iBUYPOWER lynx face to animal skins, where it can “replace” the head of the beast:
Glock-18 Weasel
Now stickers iBUYPOWER Katowice 2014 and iBUYPOWER (Holo) | Katowice 2014 have such a cult status that many collectors sculpt it on any expensive skin that comes to hand. Surfing the web, you can find many screenshots where they are applied to AWP Gungnir, AWP Dragon Lore, and AK-47 Neon Rider, but we will not injure the eyes of our readers with this pricy, but not very beautiful combinations
