Almost a fifth of all players played at a Major for the first time. CS.MONEY Blog recalls the old phrase “If you want to know someone better, look at their inventory” and went through all the items Rio’s 22 debutants have. Here’s what we found.
Also, as always, we’ve hidden a promo code for GameChanger Hub in our article. Find it and get cool skins in your Steam inventory!
w0nderful: Desert Eagle Blaze
Team Spirit’s young prospect is an anime fan. Ihor doesn’t hide that, and even his Steam profile is decorated with anime pictures. His Desert Eagle Blaze has the name tag of the Code Geass protagonist. This title is widely recognised as an anime classic, so we approve of the choice.
We also noticed that w0nderful plays Dota 2: he has got several Arcanas in his inventory, and we’re not talking about the free one currently available for everyone. Speaking of CS:GO, his goods are pretty mainstream-ish. We can see the same weapon finishes in many other inventories. For example, we saw the Desert Eagle Blaze belonging to many players. Greyhound’s Vexite even has a wise note: “Stay humble”. The first part of the promo code: CSQ.
Staehr: Karambit Doppler
Let’s start with a fun and even shocking fact: we couldn’t find any AWP skins in Staehr’s inventory. Our overall impression is that the Sprout player doesn’t want to invest more than necessary. We saw AK-47 Asiimov, M4A1-S Decimator, and a couple of other expensive weapon finishes, but only on guns that are used more often. At the same time, Staehr got a taste for his knife. Karambit Doppler, indeed, looks like a famous Marvel character.
lauNX: M4A1-S Hot Rod
Staehr’s teammate pays more attention to his inventory. Despite having only 51 items available outside lauNX’s storage unit, almost every single one is worth your attention. There is an AK-47 with a good old sticker combo of DickStacy autograph and BIG logo, a couple of stylish USP-S… But what really grabbed our attention was an M4A1-S Hot Rod. Despite this weapon finish having average popularity, we rarely saw it in other debutants’ inventories. That’s a neat skin with a minimalistic yet stylish design.
FASHR: StatTrak AK-47 Jaguar
Fnatic’s rifler has a taste for good skins, but this AK-47 Jaguar seems to be a black sheep. This AK-47 may be some sort of reminder of the player’s roots. FASHR scored more than 225.000 frags with it. His own autograph sticker and the gold Fnatic Rio sticker only strengthen our guess. The second part of the promo code: Y3R.
nqz: M4A1-S Printstream
The Brazilian rookie has quite a modest inventory. But we can’t help but appreciate his respect for his teammates. Lucas placed the autographs of all his teammates on his M4A1-S Printstream. It is worth noting that he also has AWP Capillary with the signatures of his teammates at the moment of his arrival to 9z Team. Since then, rox was replaced by BUDA.
siuhy: Glock-18 Candy Apple
Finally, let’s gid into GamerLegion’s Polish player. Kamil loves butterfly knives, while his other skins are on par with other IEM Rio Major participants. But we would like to mention siuhy’s Glock-18. Noteworthy is not the choice of a skin (which, to be honest, is pretty decent) but the stickers on it. Three red iBUYPOWER Cologne 2014 stickers, HellRaisers Katowice 2015, and Mousesports Katowice 2014. Wait, that’s not all: a Titan Katowice 2014 is the cherry on top. Although it has a different colour, we wouldn’t judge: this Glock is a luxury item.
Most CS:GO Major debutants have their autograph stickers in inventory. That is not surprising, considering the WOW effect they should have when they are immortalised in the game for the first time. We noticed with delight that their inventories were not worse than those of their more experienced teammates.
