Valve managed to turn the whole world of CS:GO upside down with one announcement. Of course, we are talking about the official presentation of Counter-Strike 2. The developers plan a global update for CS:GO to transfer the game to the new engine. Source 2 will affect almost every aspect of Counter-Strike: esports, graphics, physics, and skins. Surely, skins are the most important thing for us! Moreover, dataminers dug up that there might be up to three new cases, which means a lot of new skins! Obviously, it’s just rumoured, but why not discuss it?
But we’re here because dataminers found a dozen new skins in the CS2 game files. Even though they all look like something worthy of Collections, we have super-simple skins with just camo design; pattern skins like Case Hardened or Gamma Doppler; blueprints or early builds for something cool; and so on. Or, these are just skins that the developers used to test the graphics settings and the work of the lights/shadows/reflections/whatever. CS.MONEY Blog shows the most interesting ones dug up by users.
First of all, it is worth noting that these skins may end up as nothing at all. As we know, Valve likes to think long-term and often upload files years before actually using them or releasing them in games. At the same time, we can’t deny some of them may actually come out because dataminers once found AK Wildfire and M4A4 Fade in a similar way.
So, let’s thank @Rick_wtf for datamining and @gemsrigregory for the screenshots!
AWP Whiteout
CS:GO community has been asking for a minimalistic and white AWP skin for a long time. And now, we see this beauty in the game files. AWP Whiteout is a ‘canvas’ perfect for almost any stickers, and it looks great. Sadly, this version feels odd, as if bleached too much, a little out of the general CS:GO gloomy design, even though CS 2 will be much brighter than the current version. Would you buy this white AWP?
Tiger Silver Light Series
Here we have three skins at once, and although, at first, you want to call them Zebras, CS 2 game files state that they are Tiger Silver Light (as if a random item from the World of Warcraft series). AWP look moderate, but Desert Eagle could definitely become a popular skin!
M4A1-S Vertigo!
Do you feel dizzy while watching this new M4A1-S skin from the game files? At least you should, telling by its official name! Or maybe Valve are just slightly hinting at the upcoming Vertigo Collection? Who knows.
Three types of Laminate…
Three skins for AK-47 at once and all of them are made of wood! More precisely, we can see three items named by laminate colours: purple, violet (try to guess the difference yourself), and white. Interestingly, purple AK-47 Laminate will look great with blue stickers, which was immediately noted by many users and community members.
… and gold bricks!
It’s never enough golden skins in Counter-Strike. Yet, we don’t have many! To solve this problem, Valve are thinking about adding AK, Desert Eagle and M4A4 named Sparkle, clearly referring not to gold but to champagne and other sparkling wines. However, they can’t fool us!
Four more Gamma Dopplers
These four skins are the most realistic options and true contenders to eventually get into the game. Can you imagine how cool it would be to have an M4A1-S Gamma Doppler skin? And even more, if there are four different phased patterns? Hype is real!
By the way, now is the time to update your skins! Come to CS.MONEY and buy whatever you like! And remember, metal and pearlescent skins will look much better in CS 2!
Just a beautiful Emerald
A simple but very colourful and eye-catching M4A1-S skin: Emerald Marbelized, whatever that means. A skin like this would work great with the new lights and graphics in CS2, but it would also make an excellent combo with holo or gold stickers!
AWP Varicamo Red
This one is a stylish AWP skin that screams: “Different patterns, I will have different patterns!” Of course, this camouflage recalls autumn leaves and warm October vibes (or maple syrup) and is quite down-to-earth. A part of Vertigo or Anubis Collections?
Circuitboard Series
All electronic devices have circuitboards. To most of you, this pattern and design should sound and look familiar. Here, we have two design options: full-red and smart-blue. Which one do you like more? Anyways, we think that both of them need just a little more detail, like golden parts and various plates, to become one hell of a skin!
Carbon Series
The Carbon series look a little dull and boring, to be honest. It consists of three skins: FAMAS Carbon, AUG Carbon, and Glock-18 Carbon. They are pretty unremarkable skins, and it looks like the developers just wanted to see how the light of Source 2 would work with dark skins with a matte and patterned skin surface.
USP-S Webs, NOVA Fade and M4A4 Marble
The last three interesting skins from CS 2 game files are: adorable USP-S Webs, which was supposed to be in the Dreams&Nightamers case, apparently; a very promising and cool NOVA Fade, it’s a pity that shotguns are not in the meta; and two options of M4A4 Marble, with and without black details.
Also, dataminers found more skins, but they are rather dull, and none of them is particularly noteworthy. Probably only the Sawed-Off Blueprint deserves attention. All of these skins look like default skins from a random 2015′ %Mapname% Collection. Weird stuff!
Of course, all these skins look a little raw and unfinished. Perhaps some of them would be slightly modified and released into the game later, while others could simply remain untouched and forgotten forever. Valve, we’re waiting for announcements!
