Prisma Case turned two years old. Naturally, we won’t be celebrating this anniversary. Instead, the CS.MONEY blog is going to try and find out whether the case has aged well.
Trusted solution
The highlight of the collection was M4A4 The Emperor — a very safe choice, given the popularity of skins by 2Minds. Interestingly, the gem of this case’s “sequel” will be a Glock-18 from the same studio.
At the time of release, M4A4 The Emperor was priced at almost three hundred dollars, but then, the price tag began to decrease slowly. Six months later, the skin was already cheaper by a hundred, and after a year, by another fifty. Currently, you can get a new Emperor in excellent condition for about $150. The same price drop happened to M4A4 The Emperor skins with other float values.
It’s for a reason that we’re talking about this skin individually. Perhaps the artists have some sort of brain fetish, but either way, you can apply a CS On The Mind sticker to M4A4 The Emperor — and it will fit like a glove. The same trick works equally well with other 2Minds skins: MAG-7 Justice, M4A4 Tooth Fairy, and AK-47 The Empress.
Cheap gem
Besides M4A4 The Emperor, the highlights of the case included no skins for meta guns. Five-SeveN Angry Mob, AUG Momentum, XM1014 Incinegator, and R8 Revolver Skull Crusher — only the revolver is an outsider in this set, and the other guns aren’t exactly popular.
The real gem of the case was hidden a little deeper. We’re talking about AWP Atheris. This snake is second to none. Only AWP Mortis comes to mind as a possible rival, but that skin represents a completely different style. Just like M4A4 The Emperor, the item began to quickly lose value.
As of today, you can buy a minimal wear copy of this skin for just five dollars. For that kind of beauty, that’s literal pennies!
Geometry games
We totally dig optical illusions and tricks with weapon geometry. There are few skins like this, but they look really cool. Luckily, the Prisma case contains two such beauties at once: Tec-9 Bamboozle and Desert Eagle Light Rail.
The first one is a clever play on the round shape of the pistol’s upper part. This skin turns the gun into a panda’s dream — a bamboozle. But what’s even cooler, the artist played around the protruding surfaces in a truly masterful fashion. All these chips and imperfections make you believe that the gun is actually made of bamboo! Compared to the first Tec-9 skins, this one is a masterpiece.
Desert Eagle Light Rail represents a different approach to the same task. The drawing on the skin is very simple: it’s a gradient transition on the top of the gun. But there’s a secret about it. Desert Eagle Light Rail looks different thanks to clever perspective-related tricks. It looks as if someone had made holes and notches all over the gun’s body.
Float is good
The Prisma case contains a couple of skins with an interesting concept. The more wear and tear they receive, the more interesting they look. We’re talking about P90 Off World and P250 Verdigris. First, let’s discuss the latter.
You’ve probably heard of the Statue of Liberty. You know, that huge woman with a stern face — but we’re not talking about Lady Dimitrescu, who holds a torch and lights the world with it. The only problem is, the torch — like the woman herself — is green.
When the Statue of Liberty was installed, it was copper, but over time, it turned green. P250 Verdigris undergoes a similar metamorphosis as the float value increases: it turns from copper to seaweed green. An interesting effect that makes the skin look cool regardless of its wear.
The second skin is P90 Off World. With this one, it’s no rocket science. A minimal-wear copy is a fairly simple skin with a nice blue texture. But the higher the wear, the more detail it acquires: you’ve got the word “toxic,” a devil’s face, and an Illuminati sign. At maximum wear, the paint comes off the magazine, lending the skin a genuinely sinister appearance.
4 knives
Finally, one of the four knives can drop out of a case. These are Ursus, Talon, Stiletto, and Navaja Knife. Not the most popular knives — to add to it, the set of skins is limited. Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Rust Coat, and Ultraviolet.
Not a lot. The only piece of advice we can give you: if you like one of these knives, you’d better buy it from us. You can barely get one of these blades for a reasonable amount of cases.
So that was the case that appeared in the game two years ago. It has different skin — from fantastic cheap skins to rare non-meta items. The most frustrating of all is the knife set. By the way, the Prisma 2 case is no better in this regard.
