The CS.MONEY blog recaps last week’s highlights. NIP reshuffles, former Cloud9 players finally finding teams, and FunPlus Phoenix’s long search for a captain coming to fruition. Let’s roll!

The flusha mix suffering losses

The GORILLAZ mix was just assembled last week, but it’s already had its first reshuffle. Namely, Buğra “Calyx” Arkın left the team, with Niels-Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen replacing him in the upcoming matches.

Calyx and his team have already played in the open qualifier for the first European RMR tournament, Flashpoint 3.

Three Cloud9 players found a new team

Erick “Xeppaa” Bach, Ricky “floppy” Cameri, and William “mezzi” Merriman have found a new home. Xeppaa and floppy moved to VALORANT. Both players will further pursue their careers in the club and play under the Cloud9 Blue tag.

The British player has already returned to his home country and signed a contract with Endpoint, replacing Robin “robiin” Sjögren on the team. The latter is already playing in the DenDD lineup, with which he’s already preformed at the fourth online qualifier for Flashpoint 3.

The greatest achievement of Cloud9’s previous lineup was 9-12th place at ESL Pro League Season 13. Let’s see what the players can accomplish in their respective new lineups. Among the former Cloud9 players, those currently without a team include the team’s sniper Patrick “es3tag” Hansen and the captain Alex “ALEX” McMeekin.

NIP + device

Last week’s big news was Nicolai “device” Reedtz leaving Astralis and signing a 3-year contract with NIP Gaming. We’ve already covered that in an individual post.

Highlight of the week

Last week’s highlight was Aleksi “allu” Jalli’s play against DBL PONEY. In the group-exit match at European Development Championship 3, Alexi eliminated the Frenchmen who were trying to rush the site. A beautiful, steady ace by the team’s sniper specialist. And while this winning round didn’t bring the team a win on Dust 2, the club won the match 2-1.

FunPlus Phoenix +emi

The management of FunPlus Phoenix announced the signing of a fifth player. It’s Luka “emi” Vuković, who will assume the role of the squad’s captain. In 2020, emi played for c0ntact and the very GODSENT lineup that moved under the FunPlus Phoenix tag at the beginning of the year.

It’s a win-win situation marking the end of a stagnation. Luka Vuković has been a free agent since last October. FunPlus Phoenix’s quest for a new captain has taken a pretty long time as well.

New Dust 2 turning three years old

Three years ago, Dust 2 was added to the active map pool. An updated version of the legendary map replaced Cobblestone. Later, the map was redesigned several times. However, Valve didn’t return the map to the competitive map pool.

The map itself underwent one major update: the devs opened the “roof” over the tunnels. But it didn’t go over well with the community and eventually had very little impact on the balance.

And that covers the most significant events of the week. Give this post a like, subscribe to our social networks, and visit our blog more often, so that you’re always up to date with the most important CS:GO events.
