Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has released another update. Instead of regular bug fixes, the patch brought us six music kits. CS.MONEY blog covers all the CS:GO updates, so let’s take a look at Valve’s innovations.
List of changes
A new Music Kit Box has been added with six music kits in it, available in regular and StatTrak™ versions. The kits include:
- Austin Wintory, Mocha Petal
- Chipzel, ~Yellow Magic~
- Freaky DNA, Vici
- Jesse Harlin, Astro Bellum
- Laura Shigihara: Work Hard, Play Hard
- Sarah Schachner, KOLIBRI
Unlike regular cases, music kits are available in two variants: “normal” and StatTrak™. Both options — with and without StatTrak™ — can be purchased from the main menu. As usual, you won’t be able to choose one particular music kit: you’ll have to rely on luck and get a random item out of the box.
All kits are already available on the Steam Marketplace, so you can buy them directly from other users.
Bomb plant notification
Another slight change. The update brought a designation of bombsites A and B to game events generated when a player starts and finishes planting the bomb. While that sounds complicated, it won’t affect the gameplay in any way.
This change will help the spectators. Now, tournament operators can embed messages about planting at a specific site in their interface. If you’ve watched matches such as BLAST tournaments, you’ve probably noticed those bright full-screen notifications. Like the one in the highlight below.
These notifications aren’t triggered manually but by the aforementioned “game events.” After today’s update, tournament operators will be able to create interfaces that will not only notify you when the C4 is planted but also indicate at what point it happens.
That’s about it — A very compact update that barely changed anything. Then again, there are some patches that completely ruin the balance. Check out our selection of the 4 most significant patches in the history of CS:GO.
