Ah FaZe Clan, here we go again. FaZe have been experiencing roster issues for more than a year, and the recent signing, Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye doesn’t seem to be a solution for the European team. Kjaerbye is not what FaZe should look for.
FaZe needed ingame-leader not a rifler
The main issue for FaZe is that they don’t have a proper ingame-leader for a long time. NiKo has been calling in rounds for FaZe for many months, and I would say it’s not enough to play on a top level. NiKo is a great shooter and one of the best CS:GO prospects, and I’m sure he’s not the worst ingame-leader.
Daily reminder: with all those stars in the rosters and team’s status overall, FaZe pretend to be a stable tier-1 team. But instead, FaZe have been suffering for a while.
I’m sure FaZe Clan should have done everything to get an experienced ingame-leader, like, for example, MSL. But Kjaerbye is just a rifler. Surely, he’s a decent and experienced high-level player, but probably, that will not work out for FaZe.
Unlucky nitr0’s case
Nitr0 left Team Liquid right in time! It could be a great addition for FaZe Clan: Nick has tons of experience, as well as authority (what’s also very important in an all-star team).
Unlucky, nitr0 not only doesn’t want to relocate to Europe (as many sources said), but in the end he chose to switch for VALORANT.
That could be the greatest transfer we will never see.
NiKo will keep suffering from calls
Back to NiKo – as i told above, he is not the worst ingame-leader, but one more problem is that calling also affects NiKo’s individual performance. He loses focus and, for a long distance, it’s bad.
FaZe risk their RMR success
The funny thing is that FaZe have decided to make changes in the worst possible moment. After two RMR events and before arrival or Kjaerbye FaZe Сlan had the 7th place in RMR rankings. The European team had a bit more than 2000 points, and now FaZe are in danger.
After the recent roster changes with 20% RMR points penalty, FaZe Clan got only 1611 points and 11th place (11 teams are going to pass to the Major).
That’s wild. Simply, FaZe are in the zone of risk: they lost 20% of RMR points, they made a transfer and they must find success at the Fall RMR event. With the online format and the fact of the new roster, it’s not guaranteed at all.
Was Kjaerbye the best choice for the rifler’s position?
The last thought that’s in my head is about the particular choice of FaZe. Okay, the Europeans have decided to pick up a rifler, not an ingame-leader. But why Kjaerbye then?
They could leave Bymas and the team and lose nothing. The signing of Kjaerbye most likely will not bring immediate results. I just mean, it’s not the worst choice, it’s not the best choice. It’s a mean choice. FaZe Clan, probably, have spent a lot of money & instead of Kjaerbye they could try to get a less expensive player with the same value for the team.
Advantages of Kjaerbye is his media value and his experience, but if we summarize all the said above, does that matter much?
