Looking through pro players’ skins is quite easy: just turn on the streams or follow them in-game during tournaments. However, they choose what to wear for different reasons: just testing one or another, maybe this particular one was a gift, or they just don’t have options for a specific gun or something else. In contrast, pro players have huge inventories and it’s hard to keep track of all their skins. Still, like each of us, esports athletes also have skins that are warmest to their hearts: related to a certain story, gifts from loved ones, incredible visuals, or even references to older legendary players.
CS.MONEY Blog presents a selection of famous esports players’ favorite skins meanwhile telling a few stories connected to them.

OG.nexa: The Emperor, Wild Lotus & Butterfly Gamma Doppler
Nemanja “nexa” Isaković told a very sweet but a little sad story about his favorite skin. His M4A4 The Emperor is a gift from his beloved girlfriend, who, by the way, travels to all of nexa’s tournaments, and cheers for him the loudest. However, even Nemanja admits that he had to shelve this weapon and play with the M4A1-S because of the meta…
The other two nexa’s favorite skins are AK-47 Wild Lotus and Butterfly Gamma Doppler. There is also an emotional connection between these skins and the player: AK became Nemanja’s first truly expensive skin, and since then, he has not parted with it, while the Butterfly dropped out of just the second case during the Riptide Operation, so he brings the luck with him.
Vitality.misutaaa: Blaze, Fire Serpent & Howl
Kevin “misutaaa” Rabier loves his Fire Serpent very much, to which he became attached a long time ago and would not change it for anything else. Also, he believes that Desert Eagle Blaze is the most beautiful Deagle skin in the game and therefore uses it. Well, the third in the list of favorites was the rather popular M4A4 Howl, which is still out of the meta right now.
Shox: Night Terror, Ticket to Hell, BF GammaDoppler
Former Team Liquid player Richard “shox” Papillon is one of the old guards. Boomer by nature, he does not really understand the meaning of skins and the hype around them, but at the same time, he respects it, and his selection is quite stylish.
M4A1-S Night Terror and USP-S Ticket To Hell hint that shox’s headphones play hardcore metal or rock in addition to CS:GO sounds. And the slightly faded Butterfly Gamma Doppler Phase 1, third on his list of favorites, looks straight out of a punk’s pocket.
By the way, if you are also a fan of heavy music (rock, metal, punk), we made a compilation of themed skins! Just jump here.
Heroic.stavn: Sport Gloves, M9 Bayonet & Master Piece
Martin “stavn” Lund follows shox on the list for a reason. His М9 Bayonet Crimson Web is a reference to the legendary Frenchman. He admits this: “When I was little and saw shox playing, I became a big fan. It was at the start of CS:GO, when he was one of the best players in the world, for sure. He had the М9 Bayonet Crimson Web. And yeah, I remember when I started playing CS, I tried to copy him, so I had one for myself.” Respects paid!
And the Sport Gloves | Pandora’s Box + M4A1-S Master Piece combo just fit together perfectly, looking beautiful.
MIBR.exit: Printstreams & Bloodsport
Rafael “exit” Lacerda has excellent taste: his top three skins follow all the basic design rules. Tricolor, shades, and modern fashion for minimalism. Desert Eagle Printstream and M4A1-S Printstream are complemented by the gorgeous AK-47 Bloodsport, which adds a touch of flair.
Liquid.oSee: BF Fade, DLore & Bloodsport
Another Bloodsport fan is former shox’s teammate, Joshua “oSee” Ohm. In general, Joshua confidently says that he is a big CS:GO skins nerd and can immediately distinguish patterns in almost any model. All in all, there’s no reason not to believe him: he traded a formidable inventory in his teenage years.
There’s the expensive AWP Dragon Lore, the rarest Butterfly Fade pattern, and the already familiar AK-47 Bloodsport.
Furia.drop: BF Fade, Gloves & Bloodsport
Andre “drop” Abro is superstitious. He plays with a holy gold chain and takes his dog’s ball to tournaments. This helps him feel confident, and he admits that things are similar with skins: some bring good luck, like his BF Fade, and it may happen that he will exchange a skin if he feels that he cannot win with it (like his recent BF Ruby).
He would have gladly taken only butterfly knives in his top 3, but for a change, he had to add Butterfly Fade, Specialist Gloves | Crimson Kimono, and AK-47 Bloodsport. A superb blood-scarlet selection suggests that Andre has a complete sense of style.
Liquid.EliGE: Vanilla Knives
Last on the list is Team Liquid’s Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski. A distinctive feature of his inventory and compilation of his favorite skins is the ultra-minimalism and vanilla variations. He says that this is his thing, but at the same time, he just likes the standard skins, for knives in particular: Karambit, Talon, and Skeleton.
