USP-S | Check Engine appeared in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on September 3, 2018. It’s contained in the Inferno 2018 Collection along with the other 17 weapon finishes. It was introduced to the shooter in the “FACEIT 2018 – Ways to Watch” update, which was timed to coincide with the start of the Major in London.

Most of the pistol's surface is covered with numerous circular red spots, along with smaller, irregularly shaped spots, some in green, as if painted with a brushstroke. There are no other design elements on this skin.

Float Value of the item can vary between 0.00 and 0.60, allowing it to be obtainable in any exterior quality category. As the float increases, paint gradually wears off from the handgun’s surface, starting from the edges. In “Battle-Scarred” condition, most of the red paint is removed, revealing the gray base.

USP-S | Check Engine is categorized as the “Mil-Spec Grade” rarity and can be received in a souvenir version. This skin is moderately popular among CS2 players.
