CS2 Update: Mirage, Sounds, Buy Menu, DEagle & Gloves!

1446

Ever since the first announcement and the introduction of Counter-Strike 2, Valve, as usual, kept silent about significant updates to the game. But today, this silence has finally been broken! The developers released a new blogpost about large-scale changes in the game. CS.MONEY Blog studied the changes and highlighted the most exciting stuff.

Looking forward to CS2? Upgrade your inventory before skin prices skyrocket! An easy way to trade and buy skins is CS.MONEY Trade with prices lower than Steam Market.

New Map in CS2 Beta

During a recent couple of months, players most likely got tired of Dust 2. So, the developers decided to change it to the equally popular Mirage. Regarding objects, the new map in CS 2 is not much different from the CS:GO version. The main change is that now you can shoot and throw grenades without destroying the vent.

m0NESY is happy!

At the same time, smoke grenade mechanics drastic changes affected the tactical balance. Previously, some smokes left gaps, but now, with this whole new innovative space-filling system, you can cover the whole Jungle or Window on Mirage with just one smoke.

New Buy Menu in CS 2

Perhaps the most notable change. And the first one took from VALORANT, seemingly. Valve decided to ditch the buy wheel in favour of a table-formed menu. Now the buy menu shows your teammates’ buys, and you don’t have to look around.

Another feature that has migrated from VALORANT to CS 2 is that now you can cancel your buys before the start of the round. If during the buy-time you misclicked, now you can sell items and re-do everything from scratch. This change is a nice quality-of-life upgrade, as many players won’t get pissed off because of small mistakes.

In addition to the redesigned concept of the buy menu in CS2, Valve also changed its format. Now, before the start of each match, you assign yourself fifteen weapons that will be available for purchase during the game. You will need to choose one starting pistol for each side, four additional pistols, five submachine guns and shotguns (Mid-Tier weapons), and five assault and sniper rifles (Rifles). Theoretically, playing for CT, you can take up two slots with two different M4s and still not have an AWP!

Basically, this change can lead either to a certain tactical diversity (when different teammates have different slots), or to a surge in trolling, when you can have five people on the same team without sniper rifles in stores.

On the other hand, to be honest, CS:GO had a whole range of weapons that were almost never used by anyone. In the current situation, Valve seemingly decided to follow the fewer choices, fewer problems motto.

We wonder how many players will pick not the most effective meta weapons but based on how beautiful the skins are? What a dilemma! However, CS.MONEY has an easy way to solve it! CS.MONEY Trade has a lot of cool skins for the most meta weapons that you can buy in a couple of clicks.

Cheaters Instabanned: CS2 VAC Update

Another exciting change concerns the VAC system. Waiting for cheaters to get banned for some time after they’re busted is a usual thing in CS:GO. And this can affect a considerable amount of ruined matches. We already wrote about how VAC works in a separate article.

Now the developers state that Valve AntiCheat will ban cheaters precisely during matches. Moreover, at the end of the round, the match will be cancelled, and no ranks will be affected in any way. Those who were not grouped with the cheater will receive experience points for the match.

It is very likely that VALORANT also pushed the developers to this change. Riot’s FPS has had this system ever since the launch, and it was presented as one of the game’s main features.

Workshop & Skins: New Gloves in CS2?!

As it often happens with Valve, they apparently spilt some tea through the game files. Curiously, Twitter users have discovered that Hydra Gloves Case Hardened now have patterns. Now we can have Gloves + Knives + Weapon Finish Case Hardened combination! Don’t hesitate to visit CS.MONEY Trade to get one yourself, as we have many different skins, and gloves are no exception.

At the same time, the developer adds downloadable tools for creating various stickers, skins and maps to CS2 (the latter are not yet supported). In theory, this should simplify the process of creating skins and provoke increased creativity from the community. You can also quickly inspect your game creations with only one button.

Mechanics Changes: Binds, SubTick & Desert Eagle

This one might not look big, but it’s pretty essential. Valve brought back several single-key binds (except for jump-throw binds). The developers are also improving the SubTick system and fixing various behaviour and animation bugs. Since CS2 is in closed beta, this is not surprising.

And this is how the Desert Eagle recoil works in CS2 now:

Bonus: screenshots of Anubis, Vertigo & Inferno

Dataminers dug up screenshots of Anubis, Vertigo and Inferno on Source 2 from CS2.

  • Anubis on Source 2 in CS2 will look like this:
  • And this is how Vertigo looks on Source 2 in CS2:
  • And Valve left only one image of CS2 Inferno in the game files:

A New Stage of CS 2 Closed Beta Begins

Valve is making changes to the game in large portions. Considering that the map has changed, we could possibly wait for the developers to divide CS2 Closed Beta into sub-stages: we have already passed the era of Dust 2; it’s currently the era of Mirage; and we have screenshots of Anubis, Vertigo, and Inferno. So, there’s a possibility we will have these maps in CS2 in the future. Valve are really working their butts on the game, and this is good news.

Yet, there’s still no official info about the CS2 release date. Nobody knows the exact date, maybe not even Valve themselves, but you should not sit there tormenting yourself with waiting. CS:GO is still excellent and joyful. Moreover, your skins will migrate to the new version of the game. Therefore, if you want to update your inventory, you can spend some time picking new ones on CS.MONEY Trade, an easy way to style up your game!
