Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The patch itself is pretty tiny, yet important. Besides bringing the Champions sticker, it unveils the new RMR rules for Major tournaments. CS.MONEY Blog tells you what it all means.
New Stircker & JSON Update
First, let’s talk about the champions’ autographs, which are now live in Rio 2022 Champions Autograph Capsule. Priced one dollar and available to any player, it has signature stickers of all the Outsiders’ players, the winners of ESL Rio Major 2022. As always, regular, holo, glitter and golden.
Just so you know, PhilipBjorkebro mentioned that Valve also changed the CS:GO JSON integration system. Now, when someone is planting or defusing a C4, it displays the player’s SteamID as a string line. It was made to avoid numeric truncation in scripts. That’s not really a huge thing regular players can experience.
New RMR Invites Rules
Starting from the next major, which is BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 in case you don’t remember, Valve will invite teams to RMR in a different way. Previously, teams entered the RMR by direct invitations or through Open Qualifiers.
For Paris, things are different. Some teams that did not receive a direct invitation to the RMR will still be able to skip the Open Qualifiers. Meaning, teams that show good results in official Valve and third-party TO tournaments will have this opportunity. In this case, such teams will start their way to the Major not from OQs, but from Closed Qualifiers and will have to play against teams that have gone through Open Qualifiers.
It’s worth noting that Valve has not disclosed all the details of the new regional ratings. Seems like we will know more details soon.
By the way, Viewer Pass and Souvenir Tokens owners, don’t forget that you have a month left to spend them. All unused tokens will simply disappear if not activated. The deadline is set for December 15.
