The CS.MONEY blog is here to cover the most important events of the last week of April. Today on the menu: Valve v. matchmaking schemes, the new Brazilian lineup, and the end of Operation Broken Fang.

Heroic brings back HUNDEN as coach

Remember the large-scale brouhaha about the abuse of the coach camera bug in last September? Back then, almost forty coaches were banned by ESIC and were suspended, with the terms of the bans matching the severity of the misdeed.

ESIC’s hand also reached Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen, then coach of Heroic. He received an eight-month ban, which expired on May 1. The club then immediately announced that they were bringing the coach back in his previous role. Notably, Petersen has been working as the team’s analyst because of the ban.

The team’s captain, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, commented on the return of the mentor. In his message, he noted that HUNDEN regrets what happened. Team Heroic is currently holding second place in the HLTV ranking.

Valve banned a player for boosting

Another piece of news in the area of bans. This time, a Steam user was affected. On the game’s subreddit, a screenshot of the response from Steam support concerning the account’s status was published.

As it turned out, the player lost access to his account because of the boost. That’s what the response from the service’s support was telling him, in any event. In case you didn’t know, this kind of ban is worse than a VAC, since the owner of the profile loses access to the entire account! Games, inventory, and any other activity in Steam — everything becomes inaccessible.

We strongly recommend against any kind of account boosting or smurfing. It ruins the game for everyone else while violating Steam rules in the process.

kNgV-’s new team

Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe didn’t renew his contract with MIBR. Instead, he founded his own organization, O Plano. The team is already fully staffed and has even played in an RMR tournament qualifier.

The idea of gathering such a squad was conceived at the beginning of this year. In January, MIBR management benched two players at once: Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe and Alencar “trk” Rossato. On May 1, both players’ contracts expired. Instead of extending their partnership with the club, the Brazilians assembled their own team. The O Plano squad is now preparing to play in a closed qualifier for cs_summit 8.

Operation Broken Fang has ended

The tenth operation for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is over. Despite its weak sides like boring challenges, it can be called a success. At the release, the operation managed to climb to the second position in Steam. A very good result, given that the first line was occupied by Cyberpunk 2077

Valve hasn’t yet announced any plans regarding the next operation. However, if operations continue to be released at the same pace, the eleventh one should appear in the game by Christmas. A small reminder: 247 days intervened between the end of Shattered Web and the beginning of Broken Fang.

Highlight of the week: a $23,000 ace

This time, our highlight of the week is a grenade ace. Even though it happened in a regular match, we can’t help but admire the beauty of the moment. By spending 300 bucks on a grenade and sacrificing himself, the user vasilevsky92 was able to kill five opponents at once and take almost $23,000 out of the enemy’s economy. A 230 IQ gem of a highlight.
