Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has received yet another update. The development team changed two maps and introduced bans for toxic players. The CS.MONEY blog is here to cover the most important things about the patch.
Holes on Pitstop & trash can on Mocha
The update brought edits to two maps, which are both non-competitive. On Pitstop, textures and models got tweaked, and a broken collision model on the bombsite tent was fixed. Also, the map’s loading image is now different.
Mocha underwent more changes. The wall at the center of the map was lifted, making boosts no longer possible there. At the attack respawn, a trash can was placed, on which you can climb. Besides, the map has been optimized, and C4 explosives will no longer get stuck in a couple of spots.
Bans for being toxic
In addition to maps, the update brought another essential thing to the game: the penalty for griefing. Griefing basically stands for actions that hinder normal play. Valve won’t keep track of such cases — instead, players can report dishonest teammates themselves.
If a player behaves in a toxic fashion and receives too many reports, they will get a warning. Ignoring the warning will lead to a Competitive cooldown. That’s an extremely handy tool for cleaning up matchmaking from griefers. So be sure to report those who interfere with your entertainment in-game.
Checkbox in the Workshop
The last element of the update: works uploaded to the Workshop can be ticked as entries in the Dreams & Nightmares Contest. If yesterday’s huge hype storm somehow passed you by, here’s a brief summary for you.
The Dreams & Nightmares is a skin contest from Valve. The company will be accepting submissions until the end of October. The ten winning entries will be featured in the case, and their authors will receive $100,000 for each weapon finish that makes it into the skin box.
This update is an obvious follow-up to Valve’s recently published Fair Play Guidelines. Don’t forget to read them — failure to comply can even result in a Game-ban. Also, sign up for our newsletter. That way, you’ll always be in the loop on what’s happening in the CS:GO world.
